Trump Asked By Reporter: 'Are You Planning To Deploy Marines In California?'

During a roundtable on Monday, President Trump was asked if he would send Marines to Los Angeles after already deploying the National Guard.

00:00Mr. President, are you planning to deploy Marines in California to address the situation in Los Angeles?

00:06Are you going to deploy Marines in California?

00:09We'll see what happens. I mean, I think we have it very well under control.

00:13I think it would have been a very bad situation. It was heading in the wrong direction.

00:18It's now heading in the right direction. And we hope to have the support of Gavin,

00:22because Gavin's the big beneficiary as we straighten out his problems.

00:26I mean, his state is a mess. And I'd like to get somebody involved in the rail, because I look personally,

00:31it should have never been built because you can fly there for two dollars.

00:35And what are you doing? They're doing that. You could drive. You could do lots of different things.

00:39You know, if they did a study, if you gave every passenger the finest limousine service in the history of our world,

00:48the most expensive chauffeur driven white glove limousine service back and forth,

00:53we would have saved billions of dollars as opposed to building this monstrosity that's going up.

00:59And I've never seen anything. You know, I've seen cost overruns. I'm a I'm a person.

01:03I've always done well on cost overruns. I don't have them.

01:06But I will tell you, I have never seen cost overruns. You see it where they're 20 percent more, 50 percent, 100 percent more.

01:12These are thousands of percent. Nobody even knows. They have no idea.

01:17And it was supposed to be from San Francisco to Los Angeles.

01:21Well, they just made it way outside of Los Angeles where it's stopping in the middle of.

01:27I don't want to say nowhere, because I happen to like one of those little cities very much, but it's way short of the destination.

01:33And our government is saying, you know, why are we involved in this thing?

01:38It's been handled so badly before him. But he really blew it.
