The music exec confessed on Steven Bartlett’s podcast "The Diary of a CEO" that the thought of missing out on time with his kids had him battling suicidal thoughts back in 2020 -- all while the world saw him living large on the surface, managing the likes of thriving stars Ariana Grande and Justin Bieber.

00:00This was an interesting moment with Scooter Braun. He was on a podcast, The Diary of a CEO with
00:05Stephen Bartlett, and talked about that time in his life when he bought the catalog. He had purchased
00:13the catalog in June of 2019, and then he sold it to this company that ended up selling it to Taylor
00:20in late 2020. He was also going through a bunch of other things personally, and he says he got
00:28to a very dark place. October of 2020, my marriage was falling apart. The whole world thought I was
00:33crushing it. Ariana's crushing it. Justin's crushing it. All these people were on fire.
00:41And I had a suicidal thought for 20 minutes where I was like, if my marriage is going to fall apart,
00:47I'm not going to be with my kids all the time. I can't control this. I'm not going to be this
00:52perfect image that I presented to the world. And if I can't be this perfect image, I don't want to be
00:57here. And it went to a very dark place. And after 20 minutes, I said, what the hell was that? That's
01:02not me. The most interesting thing that happened on the other side of it is six years ago, I was
01:08biggest manager and the perfect marriage and everything I touched turned to gold, and there
01:13was no negative press about me ever. Six years later, I'm divorced. I don't manage anymore. I've had
01:20negative press, and I couldn't be happier. True confessions of the CEO.
01:25There's something to be said there that it's not about pleasing everybody else, but like
01:29actually about doing what you want and leaning into being an authentic person.
01:35Wow. What a novel idea. Nobody in Hollywood will listen to that.
01:40But interesting that Scooter decided to share it.
