00:00your divorce was finally finalized how does it feel in the months since then um what does life

00:05look like are you do you feel so much lighter now that everything is kind of behind you or at least

00:09that chapter is behind you i do you know i am finally at the other side and it feels so good

00:17divorce is one of the worst things i think anyone can go through next to the next to death and

00:25unfortunately um this year i had to deal with with two of those i dealt with the death of my

00:31father and also divorce but finalizing it was you know definitely a weight off my shoulders

00:38dealing with the lawyers dealing with all of it was a full-time job you know i would wake up every

00:45day and there was a new new document i had to sign or um like a new motion that i had to respond to

00:53and another check i had to sign you know so it's all very very draining i can't imagine the financial

01:01drain drain that it must have you know it takes on like you said the families and things like that

01:06you don't want to have to go through that yeah it's it's really terrible and i really hope that

01:12this will change divorce that is the goal i wanted to make divorce easier to help not just help women

01:19help everybody help anyone going through this yeah i mean what does co-parenting kind of look like for

01:26you are is there any co-parenting are you hoping for some sort of amicable relationship in the future

01:33i would i would love that i personally try to do my best to communicate as much as possible i have

01:4050 50 custody with my ex um that alone was very hard for me to do um the kids were you know two and

01:49six when the divorce begun um and now they're you know they're five and a half and ten and it's just

01:58been such a journey and such an adjustment for all of us so i really try to do everything for the in

02:06the best interest of the kids and i that's all i can do i can only control myself yeah do you and

02:14any talk at all we communicate by text and sometimes it goes well but sometimes it it doesn't

02:21you know we're we're butting heads but um i have my little tool here split well so that's been helping

02:28me tremendously um yeah and it really it really helps me de-escalate conflicts like before i send

02:35something i run it through my app and it kind of you know sends it in a in a lighter tone if you

02:43will um yeah and it just has kept me really organized no totally you know we see in the

02:48first episode of miami which i'm so happy that it's back but we do see that you are adjusting to

02:54that 50 50 custody and you know it's hard for you not knowing what your kids are doing 50 of the time

03:00what was the biggest adjustment for you in this yeah uh the biggest adjustment was not seeing my

03:06kids for half of their lives because really that's that's what it is and i try to make the most out of

03:12my time with them and it probably has made me a better mom because when they're with me i dedicate

03:18all of my free time and their free time with me um you know it just makes you value that time

03:26that you have with them that you have with them and make the most of it
