00:07Christian Slater Day in Hollywood take it away yeah oh yeah that's the part I
00:21need wow look this is cool this is this is a big deal this is fun and this is truly a
00:34once-in-a-lifetime experience and I feel very blessed and very grateful and very
00:39lucky my father lived on Hollywood Boulevard when I was a kid I was about
00:45eight or nine he lived in the Hollywood Hotel and apartments and I remember
00:51walking around the street and seeing the names of the actors and movie stars on
00:55the ground and I never thought or dreamed I would have my own I just love to read
01:00the names of all those who came before me and feel appreciation for every single
01:05one of them and I did the music man with Dick Van Dyke at the Pantages Theatre
01:11when I was a kid also and that's located right on Hollywood Boulevard and I
01:15couldn't believe I was getting the chance to perform in the town that I hold in
01:19such high regard and this city made me believe that magic is real and dreams do
01:25come true a few years later I was rehearsing for a skateboard movie called
01:31gleaming the cube I really wasn't very well skilled at skateboarding and needed
01:43some lessons so Stacy Peralta you know he's my teacher an expert skater he's my
01:49coach he said that one of the best and smoothest places to board was Hollywood
01:54Boulevard so we came here at 2 a.m. when the streets were empty and he was
01:59exactly right we both gleamed the cube together right down the Walk of Fame which
02:06was a lot of fun my heroes are Harrison Forge Mark Hamill Jack Nicholson Spencer
02:12Tracy Humphrey Bogart and too many others to name and they all have delivered
02:17some incredible performances and they all have stars on this Boulevard and to be
02:22able to share some space with all of them is an honor and a dream come true I
02:26love this town and I love this business I've been in show business for five
02:31decades started selling Pampers when I was a baby believe it or not I still love it
02:38and I still have fun I look at my job as something I get to do not as something I
02:43have to do I want to give a special thanks to Paramount Plus and Showtime and
02:49my Dexter family for all their support it's a great group of people and I love
02:56working with them and I feel like this is a wonderful ending to a chapter of my
03:01life but with many more pages still left to write but this is certainly a
03:05highlight and something I will treasure for the rest of my life I've been a very
03:09blessed man for the last few years blessed with some wonderful friends and
03:14surrounded by people who truly love me and I truly love they're all here thanks
03:20guys for being here Jason Weinberg my manager I feel very grateful to have you
03:28part of the gang I love your energy and your passion and your talent and glad you've
03:32come aboard Darren Boghossian my agent and Evelyn Karamanos my publicist we've been
03:39together for close to 20 years it's unbelievable or maybe more I don't know
03:43and I feel that we're not just partners in this wild business but we're also
03:48friends and thank you for always believing in me and standing by me through thick and
03:53thin thank you I have amazing and wonderful children that I can't imagine my life
03:59without them I truly just oh my gosh that's they're the greatest and my wife is my best
04:05friend there she is I mean talk about having a partner and someone on your side for this journey of
04:17life I couldn't have gotten any luckier and I couldn't be any more grateful for what you've
04:22brought to my life I feel safe I feel loved I feel cared for I feel seen
04:27yeah having a star on Hollywood Boulevard is great but none of this would have been possible
04:35without my family and the love I have in my life today so thank you all for being here and being a
04:41part of a very special moment for me I love you all thank you thank you
