00:00Clean up began after dozens of residents in the Swiss canton of Vallis were evacuated following a mudslide.
00:08Caused by heavy rainfall, the mudslide tore away an emergency bridge in the area,
00:14meaning a pedestrian and cycle path is the only thing linking to rural villages.
00:20We are blocked because we can't get access to the other villages,
00:23and there are people who descend from the bus, who want to climb up to L'Ortier.
00:26They have 40-45 minutes of walking. It's a bit complicated.
00:31We are going to see the bridge in the course, to see what it looks like.
00:37Yesterday we were in front, and we saw the rocks descend from the summit.
00:44The debris flooding the area since last week's storm carries wood, mud and large stones.
00:52Locals will be relocated elsewhere for an indefinite period, according to local officials.
