00:00My name is Marcus Beyer, CEO of Attraction GMBA and the creator of Jurassic Immersive.
00:05Nick Payne from iCities.
00:07How did they come out for Jurassic Immersive experience?
00:12I have two little kids and we went, you know, little boys love dinosaurs.
00:18We went to different outdoor parks with static or simple animatronic robot dinosaurs
00:26which looked very cheap and they didn't like it.
00:28So they said, Papa, you can do it much better, do it digital and make it like they come to life.
00:34And that was the idea and the foundation of Jurassic Immersive and yeah, here we are.
00:40And Marcus and I spoke about six months ago and Marcus said,
00:45I've got this great immersive experience and I'm looking for a UK venue.
00:50And then, yeah, so it started around two and a half years ago in Vienna,
00:55then went on tour to Malta, then to Stuttgart and this is now the fourth destination.
01:01And how was Bristol chosen to be the first UK venue?
01:06Well, Marcus and I went around a few of our venues, didn't we?
01:10And Bristol stood out for a number of reasons.
01:14One was the population, the demographics of the population and their creativity and the young population,
01:22as well as having available space within the building and free car parking.
01:28So all told, it seemed to be a perfect match.
01:31How have you had the challenges to bring this experience to Bristol?
01:35Well, it's been challenging because we've had to take four big HGVs from Stuttgart all the way here.
01:45And when they arrived, there was a lot of kits, as you can imagine.
01:49There's a million pounds worth of equipment upstairs.
01:53And it took about six weeks to erect the tour.
01:57There were some elements, compressors and very expensive servers that were too heavy to carry up.
02:06So we had to take some windows out and we craned those in.
02:10But finally, you made it.
02:12We made it.
02:14What are some of the highlights of the experience?
02:16So it differs a lot, you know, from family to family.
02:23But some of the highlights are definitely the main show, where you're in a gathering on the beach, in the air, underwater,
02:31and come very close to dinosaurs.
02:34Then you have a ride, where you have a flyover of the dinosaur sanctuary.
02:37And the VR ride, in addition, where you also experience the dinosaur world in a very different way than you've ever seen before.
02:48I think it's the journey.
02:50This is about an hour long.
02:52And you truly are immersed.
02:54So when you arrive, the sound and the noises and having to break out of an escape room is a very exciting start.
03:03And then you have various themes that carry through the whole of the event, culminating in what I think is the best piece,
03:11which is the gathering, which is an immersive room, a very large immersive room,
03:15where the projections are on four walls and you sit and watch a 15-minute movie of dinosaurs roaming around you.
