00:00All right, so Matthew Boyd of the Chicago Cubs
00:03gets two starts, really, really good starts, by the way,
00:06I think, at Philadelphia and against Pittsburgh.
00:10Now, the Phillies start, George is like,
00:11are you nuts?
00:12Like, the Cubs are good, man.
00:14They're just beating everybody.
00:15Like, I don't know that it really matters at this point.
00:17If Boyd goes five innings and gives up three runs,
00:19he may win, and then he's got that start against Pittsburgh.
00:22This has been a nice reclamation project for Chicago.
00:25So, I mean, the bottom line is you could do a lot worse.
00:28I'm in.
00:30I think Boyd's getting pretty close to – he's in my lineup.
00:34I don't even think about it anymore.
00:35He's starting.
00:36He's in my lineup.
00:36You said Cubs are a good team, good chance for a W there.
00:39He's pitching well.
00:40He may not be – he's not Tarek Skubel, who the hell is,
00:43but he's pitching well here.
00:44Wait, what else do you want?
00:45He's at a 3-1, 3-0-1 ERA, with maybe a little high at 1-1-9,
00:49but you're fine there.
00:50He's got more than a strikeout per inning.
00:52What do you want here?
00:54Hey, if the wind's blowing out, okay, daily lineup,
00:57I'm not going to start him there.
00:58If that's any pitcher that the wind's blowing out, Wrigley,
01:00I'm not starting.
01:01All right, but other than that, he's in my lineup.
01:03He's a lock.
01:06The forgotten man on the Diamondbacks.
01:08Boy, the disrespect for this guy, Merrill Kelly of Arizona.
01:12I think his whip is under one on the year.
01:14This guy is really good, but yet he's never in that same conversation
01:18with some of the other pitchers.
01:19Gets Seattle and San Diego.
01:21I mean, this is as easy as it gets, George.
01:23How are you going to find him?
01:24I mean, this guy is a must-start every week, no matter who he plays.
01:28Yeah, I think with Merrill, he probably doesn't get the love he should,
01:31probably for a combination of reasons.
01:33A lot of us still remember when the ball flew out of Arizona, right?
01:36So we were wary of their starting pitchers, too.
01:38The humidor or whatever they use in there, it slows it down somewhat.
01:42You know, so once again, ERA, 3.43.
01:45Well, good.
01:46Whip is fantastic.
01:47You already said that.
01:48Under one here, 0.99.
01:50Strikeout's a little less than one per inning, but he's right there.
01:52So, once again, why wouldn't you start him here?
01:56Seattle, probably hit a little bit better than we thought here,
01:59but it's an average offense.
02:00San Diego's an average offense, so you're not really worried about that.
02:03Yeah, even in a one-start week, he gets a lot of consideration in a two-start week,
02:07and you're not facing any, you know, you're not, like, facing the Athletics
02:09or the Yankees, someone like that.
02:11No, he starts for me.
02:12Like I said, there's almost no question he's going for me.
02:15All right.
02:16A little tougher here, I think.
02:18You see Kikuchi gets two struggling teams, but he's only got one win on the season
02:24despite the numbers that he has, George.
02:25I mean, I'm not really diving into what's going on with Kikuchi after the fifth inning,
02:30but I'm going to guess that it's been a lot of close games that they haven't won.
02:33He gets the A's, who can't win a game on Monday,
02:36and then the Orioles, who seem to be, like, going to do it a little bit better,
02:40but, you know, generally not that much.
02:42Oof, tough one for me here, Drew.
02:46I'm probably going to start him, but something seems to be happening here
02:52maybe that I'm missing here.
02:53Why does he only have one win on the year?
02:54His numbers are good.
02:56I think you already said it, and I don't know for sure without actually looking here,
03:00but I'm guessing that when he starts, they don't score
03:03because I'm looking here.
03:03Earned runs, last couple of lists.
03:05I got the whole season.
03:06He's not giving up more than four earned runs at any start,
03:09and he's only done that twice.
03:10All right, 3-1-0-1-2-1-2.
03:15Those were his earned runs giving up in his, what, last eight starts here.
03:18Before, that was 4-0-1-4-3-3,
03:20so maybe a little slower start to the season here.
03:23This comes down to be pretty simple.
03:25If you have him on your roster and you're not starting him next week,
03:28probably shouldn't be on your roster.
03:30The numbers are good.
03:31Yeah, W's may be tough to come by.
03:32Maybe they're not hitting for him here.
03:34Athletics at home, you'll like that.
03:35Baltimore, maybe a little concerned there,
03:37but they really haven't been hitting either.
03:39Oh, by the way, they lost to the Athletics last night,
03:41so there's that too here.
03:43He's on my roster.
03:44I'm starting him next week.
03:44This is why I have him for these two start weeks that we like here.
03:47Kikuchi goes for me.
