01:03At the event's plenary session,
01:04heads of states and high-ranking officials
01:06expressed worry over profan global uncertainty
01:09and growing conflicts.
01:10Last year, armed conflicts were recorded in 52 states,
01:13while the violence's economic toll
01:16came to можете whithвер's 19 trillion dollars
01:18or around 13.5% of global GDP.
01:21Yet beyond the numbers lies a more troubling reality.
01:25Modern conflicts are increasingly protracted and complex.
01:30They often involve a multitude of actors, including non-state groups, and are fueled by deep-seated grievances.
01:41These factors make lasting peace far more difficult to achieve.
01:46Global leaders said conflicts from old grudges must be solved at the source.
01:50While dialogue remains an important part of politics, talk without action will not produce results.
01:55We are living in deep crisis. That is obvious fact.
02:00United Nations are still enjoying legitimacy.
02:05And in my opinion, they are the only place where we could solve a lot of different problems.
02:12Because then we could unite ourselves, how, with principles and values that are often forgotten.
02:23The presidents agree that to tackle today's challenges, the 80-year-old United Nations structure needs an update.
02:29The system established after World War II is faltering, and nations are building relations in new, unprecedented ways.
02:35Amid these shifting dynamics, Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Miloni noted that Central Asia has consistently played the role of a mediator and a bridge.
02:44This region has always been a crossroads between the West and the East, and occupies a strategic role in the global scenario.
02:53Moreover, in difficult times, as those we are in.
02:59Central Asia has always been a bridge.
03:02The transformations and changes this part of the planet has undergone over the centuries have made it what it is today.
03:10The hinge between two continents, the point of contact between Europe and Asia,
03:17the junction between worlds that once were very distant but now are more interconnected than ever.
03:25Miloni made an appearance on the second day of the forum on her way to the first Italy-Central Asia Summit,
03:31which also took place in Astana.
03:32Highlighting the long-standing ties between the two countries,
03:35she pointed to the growing importance of critical infrastructure like the Middle Corridor,
03:39whose strategic role is evolving amid rising geopolitical tensions.
03:43It's a middle corridor, as we say, and it's already been changed from the alternative route that we used initially to a large economic network of cooperation between the West and the West, and we are in the middle of it.
04:03Experts also talked about the need for cleaner energy and reaching carbon neutrality, especially with growing concerns about climate change.
04:10Central Asia is suffering from acute climate crisis.
04:14The temperatures in the region rise twice as fast as the rest of the world, threatening water security, food security, public health and economic stability.
04:22The forum's panels address the importance of climate action and accessibility of climate financing.
04:27Unfortunately, our region, Central Asia, has attracted less than 1% of global climate finance,
04:33whereas we have huge potential to contribute to global climate action and reduction of carbon emissions,
04:40but also this is one of the most vulnerable regions to the effects of climate change.
04:45Experts say climate problems don't stand alone.
04:48They make other issues worse.
04:50To tackle this, the nation is getting ready to host the Regional Climate Summit in 2026.
