According to CNBC, the report claims he used his position to benefit Tesla, SpaceX, and xAI through federal contracts. The report outlines over two dozen instances where the government initiated or explored lucrative agreements with Musk’s companies, including Customs and Border Protection’s potential use of Starlink in surveillance towers. The report cites six instances where the Trump administration or federal agencies halted enforcement actions against Musk’s companies or targeted agencies investigating them. Three Democratic senators, including Warren, urged the Justice Department to investigate whether DOGE employees violated conflict-of-interest laws by holding stocks in companies that may have profited from their government roles.
