Musk stood beside him in the Oval Office as the president signed an executive order directing federal agencies to work with DOGE to reduce the workforce and limit hiring. Critics have slammed DOGE’s aggressive budget cuts, shutting federal contracts and agencies, leading to multiple lawsuits. Musk serves as a special government employee, and as such, he is exempt from public financial disclosures and has dismissed conflict-of-interest concerns.
