Speaking at the White House, Musk seemed to bid farewell to President Donald Trump’s Cabinet. Trump praised Musk’s service through the Department of Government Efficiency, which Musk will now scale back to just a day or two per week. Although Musk framed DOGE as a historic success, experts estimate it may ultimately cost taxpayers up to $135 billion this year due to disruptions in the federal workforce.
