Three people, including one woman and two men, have died in a stampede outside Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. The incident occurred as large crowds gathered for RCB celebrations.

00:22The situation right now is pretty precarious because there are lakhs of people out there struggling to control the situation.
00:31There was a brief stampede that broke out at the Chinnaswamy Stadium and gates were opened up for people to enter.
00:37And in that chaos, that melee, unfortunately, three deaths have been reported.

01:42Three deaths being reported.
01:44Preliminary information, what we are getting from the local police is we have been dead in the stampede and few have been injured is what we are told.
01:53There was a commotion near the stadium is what we are told as of now.
01:57More information has to trickle in.
01:58We don't know the identity of who these victims are but just half an hour back, there was a huge rush near the stadium and hence, there was a stampede.

02:50The gates are closed which is what is leading to the chaos.
02:53The gates briefly open in which people rush through and unfortunately a stampede breaking out in the course of that with three people dying.

03:13The stadium is packed, it's full.
03:15So you'll have to stand outside and outside too.
03:18The roads are chock-a-block, jam-packed right now.
03:21So avoid these areas around the Vedansada, around the Chinnaswamy Stadium.
03:26I mean, images coming in right now of those who fell unconscious, became unconscious right after the stampede.
03:34There were multiple people also who were rushed in ambulances to a local hospital.
03:39But like I said, this happened right as the gates opened up.
03:42And because of the sheer number of people, the volume of crowds there, there are people who fell unconscious, unable to breathe.
03:49And these are the unfortunate, heartbreaking images really.
03:53This is a moment of celebration.
03:54It shouldn't turn in such a manner.
03:56It shouldn't have turned quite as ugly.
03:58And while there will be questions of the management or whether this was handled properly,
04:03there also has to be a reminder given out that what they've seen essentially is a turnout that was unprecedented.
04:08Nobody expected lacks to gather in this manner.
04:11So an ugly turn to all of the celebrations that we've been reporting on.
04:16At this point, we understand that even now, while security has been beefed up at the Chinnaswamy Stadium,
04:23there is still a steady stream of RCB fans gathering there.
04:28And that's what's rather worrisome, that the situation at any point could again turn to be very, very dangerous for those who've gathered there outside.

04:39And we were just talking about that as we were watching what was happening in Bengaluru.
04:43There were literally scenes of how people were getting on each other in a bid to get across the gate,
04:48in a bid to get on to the other side, to be able to catch a glimpse of the cricketers.
04:54But honestly, I mean, your life comes first.
04:57And that is something that every individual must realize.
04:59It is an important message that we continue to put out, that your safety is first and foremost.
05:05Unfortunate, the three people have been reported dead.
05:09And even as we track the situation very closely, we are learning that one woman and two men have lost their lives in this stampede.

05:51Not everybody has the same bandwidth to be able to tolerate the situation.
05:53And, you know, in such a situation, I don't know if the Victory Parade and the event at Chinnaswamy Stadium will go on,

06:03There have been casualties, which is extremely, extremely tragic.
06:07So, you know, while we've been reporting on the celebrations here,
06:10and sure, it was a moment for RCB fans to come together and celebrate.
