00:08Officials under the Trump administration are seeking to wrap up talks with multiple partners ahead of the July 8th tariff deadline.
00:17According to a draft letter to negotiating partners that was cited by Reuters,
00:23the U.S. is asking countries to list their best proposals in a number of key areas.
00:28This includes tariff and quota offers for purchase of U.S. industrial and agriculture products,
00:34as well as plans to remedy any non-tariff barriers.
00:39Other requested items include commitments on digital trade and economic security, along with country-specific commitments.
00:47It is unclear which countries have received the letter, but it was directed at those with active negotiations in place.
00:54So far, only one agreement has been reached with a major U.S. trading partner, the U.K.
01:01Despite court challenges, the Trump administration plans to continue tariffs under other laws urging talks to stay on track.
