00:00Welcome back.
00:01U.S. President Donald Trump says he's willing to extend the July 8th deadline for completing
00:06trade talks with countries before higher U.S. tariffs kick in.
00:10However, he believes it would not be necessary.
00:15Would you be willing to extend the deadline for trade talks with these countries?
00:20I would, but I don't think we're going to have that necessity.
00:24We made a great deal with China, we're very happy with it.
00:28We have everything we need, and we're going to do very well with it, and hopefully they
00:32are too.
00:34Trump said trade talks were ongoing with some 15 countries, including South Korea, Japan
00:39and the European Union.
00:41He added that letters outlining trade terms will be sent out in the coming weeks to dozens
00:46more nations, which they can choose to accept or reject.
00:51U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Besant earlier said that the administration may extend the
00:55deadline or roll the date forward for countries negotiating in good faith.
00:59The current 90-day pause on Trump's reciprocal tariffs ends July 8th, with only one trade deal
01:05agreed with Britain, and 17 others still at various stages of negotiation.
01:10A separate deal with China, agreed on Tuesday in London to de-escalate their trade war, is
01:16moving on a different timeline, with an August 10th deadline.
