00:00Roman Anthony, of course, knocking on the door of getting to the big league team.

00:04Durant, 28 years old, he's only making $3.75 million this year,

00:07which he had to haggle with the Red Sox over after getting MVP votes last year.

00:12He's only under team control through 2028.

00:15However, at age 28, he's the oldest in the group of Raffaella and Abreu,

00:19and eventually Roman Anthony.

00:21Maybe that would make the Red Sox more willing to trade him.

00:23Now, the question is, what would you want?

00:25I would assume starting pitching from the Padres would be what the Red Sox would want.

00:28And this story seems to suggest that top-catching prospect Ethan Salas

00:33might get the Red Sox to be inclined to make a deal.

00:36So they traded Kyle Teal, so they did have a top-catching prospect.

00:39But they traded him away.

00:40No, I wouldn't do that.

00:40Are you trading Durant for a prospect?

00:42I'm not trading Durant for anything.

00:44Well, I shouldn't say that.

00:45That's way too overboard.

00:46But I'm not trading Durant for almost anything.

00:49He was top 10 in the MVP last year.

00:51He hasn't been as good this year.

00:53But if you were ever going to trade him,

00:55you trade him after last season,

00:57and you get as much as you possibly can because he is a cheap guy.

01:01So even if you have to go to arbitration or even if you give him these slight

01:04boosts, you're going to have him for really cheap.

01:06His production is way higher than what you're paying him.

01:11He's your leadoff hitter.

01:12He plays every day.

01:13You can ping-pong him between center and left.

01:16When Roman Anthony comes up, he can play center.

01:18That's fine.

01:19He isn't having as good of a year as he did last year,

01:23but I would expect him to sort of come out of that at some point.

01:26And you'd be selling a little bit lower, too,

01:29based on the season that he's having.

01:30Agreed.

01:31So if you're so quick to move, if you're going to trade him in June,

01:33or even, let's say, at the deadline in July,

01:36well, what was the point of that for three months?

01:38Like, if it was in your mind to trade him,

01:39you probably could have gotten a ton this offseason.

01:41Well, I mean, let me defend the team on that to a degree.

01:43Like, your team's underachieving.

01:45You thought you'd be better.

01:46You thought your pitching staff might be better.

01:48And so now it's Garrett Crochet and nothing after Garrett Crochet.

01:52Bueller was bad again over the weekend.

01:54How it's been horrible.

01:56Baio can't pitch during the day.

01:57And so, like, what do you do?

01:59And you look at a team like the Padres.

02:02Ironically, Pavetta's having a great year for them.
