00:00The party used to have the courage to do big and bold things.
00:04We're the people, and the people who sat in these chairs before you,
00:08who built Social Security from scratch.
00:11We're the people who secured personal freedoms.
00:14We're the people who rescue the economy every damn time the Republicans crash it.
00:23It's like two or three times we've had to do this.
00:26And you know we're going to have to do it again.
00:31Look, we also used to have the competency to get the basic stuff done,
00:36like helping you find meaningful work, living in safe, secure neighborhoods,
00:42and sending your kids to good schools,
00:44until somehow we strayed away from that North Star.
00:48But right here, right now, while Trump and the Republicans are showing the working class
00:53what they truly look like, we've got an opportunity to be their champions again.
00:58How? And this is for me. I think it's pretty simple.
01:01We've just got to show them that we've got the guts to fight for them,
01:04that we truly believe it, that we will fight for the working class.
01:10All of you are saying,
01:12we brought this guy all the way down here to tell us that,
01:15and you're like thinking, no shit, that's what we have to do.
01:18That's what we have to do.
