00:08the final season. The end of an era is near. Stranger Things wrapped production on its fifth

00:14and final season, as confirmed in December 2024. This marks the end of an era for the show,

00:21which premiered back in 2016. While plot details on Season 5 are so far scant,

00:27there's plenty to take in about the final installment, including release date,

00:32casting updates, episode count, and titles, and more. Read on to find out everything we know about

00:38Stranger Things Season 5. Will there be a Stranger Things Season 5? Indeed. In February 2022, Netflix

00:48said in a statement that Stranger Things would return for Season 5. Showrunners and creators Matt

00:54and Ross Duffer, known as the Duffer Brothers, wrote in a Netflix blog via The Hollywood Reporter,

01:01Seven years ago, we planned out the complete story arc for Stranger Things. At the time,

01:07we predicted the story would last four to five seasons. It proved too large to tell in four,

01:13but as you'll soon see for yourselves, we are now hurtling toward our finale. Season 4 will be the

01:20penultimate season. Season 5 will be the last. What is the Stranger Things Season 5 release date?

01:29As announced at the 2025 Tudum event, Stranger Things Season 5 will release its eight episodes in

01:35three separate batches. The first will air on Wednesday, November 26, the day before Thanksgiving.

01:41The second part comes Christmas Day, Thursday, December 25. And the third and final batch arrives

01:48New Year's Ever, Wednesday, Deck 31. What happened in the Stranger Things Season 4 finale? A lot.

01:57Eleven and Vecna had their big showdown. Max died for a minute and came back to life, albeit in a coma.

02:04And Joyce and Hopper made it back to Hawkins to reunite with their kids. But the town is in big trouble.

02:11In the last moments of the finale, we see Will reach for the back of his neck, just as he did in past

02:17seasons when he was under the spell of the Mind Flayer. Dark clouds roll in, upside-down particles float

02:24from the sky, and it's clear that Vecna is still alive. Who died in Stranger Things Season 4?

02:32Eddie, played by Joe Quinn. Eddie sacrifices himself to save Nancy, Steve, and Robin from the Demobats.

02:39He dies in Dustin's arms. Dr. Brenner, aka Papa, played by Matthew Modine, after the military arrives

02:47to kill Eleven. Papa brings her to safety and gets shot down by soldiers. Despite being tranquilized

02:53by Papa, Eleven manages to destroy the helicopter with her powers. Before he dies, Papa asks her to

03:01tell him that she understands why he did everything that he did and that he did it out of love.

03:06But she doesn't give him the absolution he's after. Did Max die in Stranger Things Season 4?

03:12Technically, yes. After getting her bones crushed by Vecna, she died for a whole minute.

03:18But she miraculously came back to life, albeit in bad shape. She's in a coma. Her long-term fate

03:24remains to be seen.

03:26Was Season 4 the last season of Stranger Things? Season 4 was not the last season of Stranger

03:34Things, but it was the beginning of the end. Season 5 will be the final season of the series,

03:40and Season 4 was marketed with the tagline, Every Ending Has a Beginning. The penultimate

03:52A teaser trailer was released on November 5th, 2024, also known to fans as Will Byers Day. It

04:01revealed the episode titles for Season 5. In the fall of 1987, the text says,

04:07One last adventure begins. Notably, that means there will be a whole one-year time jump between

04:13Seasons 4 and 5. Additionally, Netflix dropped some exciting behind-the-scenes footage to commemorate

04:19reaching the halfway mark of filming. On Scepter 19, Netflix shared another behind-the-scenes

04:25video. This time, cast members Finn Wolfhard, Caleb McLaughlin, and Gaten Matarazzo took a couple

04:32of superfans on a surprise tour of the Season 5 set. Who is in the Stranger Things Season 5 cast?

04:40In June 2023, Netflix announced that 80s icon Linda Hamilton would join Season 5 of Stranger

04:47Things. No word yet on who the Terminator star will play, or whether that character will be good

04:53or bad. But suffice it to say, this is exciting news. Even Hamilton isn't sure how her character

05:00plays into the final story, she told the Hollywood Reporter in February.

05:05They have to be very careful with their story, she said, so I still don't know how it ends,

05:11and it takes a lot of discipline to not know where it's going to go,

05:14but that's to protect it from all of the people that want to know.

05:18On July 15, 2024, Netflix confirmed three more cast additions.

05:24Evil Dead Rise, 2023. Actress Nell Fisher will play Holly Wheeler, replacing twins Aniston and

05:32Tinsley Price in the role. Newcomer Jake Connolly will portray an unknown character in the new season.

05:38Alex Brough, who appeared in 2023's Waco, The Aftermath, and Joe Pickett, also plays a yet-to-be-disclosed

05:47role. Other cast members in Season 5, Millie Bobby Brown, as Eleven.

05:54When did Stranger Things Season 4 come out?

05:58Stranger Things. Season 4 was released in two volumes. Season 4, Volume 1, dropped on Netflix on

06:05May 27th, 2022. And Season 4, Volume 2 was released on the streaming platform on July 1st, 2022.

07:37dimension known only as the Upside Down. The Duffers reportedly signed a massive nine-figure deal with

07:44Netflix in 2019 ahead of Stranger Things Season 4, so it makes sense that we may see more stories from

07:52the Stranger Things universe on the streamer. Are there Stranger Things Season 5 spoilers? Though it's

07:58technically only a spoiler if you really haven't been paying attention, Noah Schnapp revealed to

08:03Variety in July 2022 that a significant portion of Stranger Things Season 5 will focus on Will

08:09Byers' struggle with being gay. And yes, the character is gay, and yes, he is in love with Mike

08:16Wheeler. It's this multifaceted trauma that goes years back, because he was taken by the Demogorgon,

08:22and then his friends. They never acknowledged him, and now he's scared to come out and doesn't know

08:28if they'll accept him, Schnapp said of his character. And then Eleven is like his sister,

08:34but he doesn't want to hurt her because if he says he likes Mike, that's gonna hurt her feelings.

08:39There's all these things running in his mind, so I kind of just have to make sure that I'm conveying

08:45the depth of all his traumas. As for Mike, Wolfhard told THR that fans can expect to see the cast

08:51reunite into a cohesive storyline after being split in Season 4. Not being around everyone all

08:57the time was definitely a bummer about filming 4, but 5 is the opposite. We're all together all the

09:03time, and a bunch of us live around the corner and across the street from each other in real life,

09:08he said. So the cast is really seeing each other a lot, and we're in a lot of the same scenes,

09:13which has been really great.
