Ralph, Cedric and Bert face ghosts and skeletons as they travel to a secret hideaway in the Evergreen Forest.
Transcript
00:00I'm going to sleep in the haunted house tonight.
00:18This is the Evergreen Forest.
00:24Quiet, peaceful, serene.
00:26That is, until Burt Raccoon wakes up.
00:30Luckily, he has some good friends to help him out.
00:46Life would be simple in the forest, except for Cyril Sneer.
01:01And his life would be simple, except for the raccoons.
01:06When the moon is full over the Evergreen Forest and the stars are out, it's sometimes very difficult to distinguish myth from reality.
01:29And as bedtime draws near, there are few who feel safe enough to close their eyes and go to sleep.
01:36Because the strange sights and sounds of the forest can play havoc with the imagination.
01:43Tell us a story, please, Dad.
01:45Yeah, tell us the one about ghosts that come out when there's a full moon.
01:50What makes you think that ghosts come out when there's a full moon?
01:53Well, everybody knows that.
01:55Yeah, everybody knows that.
01:57Julie, you better go to sleep if Dad's going to tell us about ghosts.
02:03You always get scared by things like that.
02:06Boo!
02:07No, I don't.
02:08Yes, you do.
02:09You're always afraid of things like that.
02:11I am not.
02:13You are, too.
02:13Okay, settle down, kids, so I can tell the story.
02:16It was a dark and misty night when two strangers, hiking deep in the forest, came upon an old abandoned house.
02:27A house that, according to legend, was haunted.
02:31As the two strangers slowly stepped onto the porch, the full moon suddenly broke through and the front door mysteriously opened.
02:40What was that?
02:46It's okay, kids.
02:47It's just brew.
02:48I knew that.
02:49So did I.
02:50I was just trying to scare Julie.
02:53Honest.
02:54Tommy.
02:55Meanwhile, in another part of the forest, something strange was about to unfold that would separate myth from reality.
03:05Earlier that same day, Ralph and Bert Raccoon and their friend Cedric were preparing for a special trip to the Raccoon's Boyhood Fort.
03:17Just think of it.
03:19In a few short hours, we'll be relaxing in our secret fort.
03:23I haven't seen it since we were kids.
03:26It'll be the perfect home away from home.
03:28Wait till you see it, Cedric.
03:30Oh, yeah.
03:31The old fort.
03:33Smack dab in the middle of the wilderness.
03:36It's wild and woolly.
03:39Untamed, too.
03:40And the fish are ten feet long.
03:44Ten feet long?
03:46Yeah, and those are just the guppies.
03:49Okay, I'm all packed, too.
03:52Huh?
03:53Well, Ralph.
03:54Well, it might be a little rugged.
03:57We're going to be hiking and fishing and portaging and chopping wood and fighting rapids.
04:04But I can do all that.
04:06Ah, are you kidding?
04:08And besides, we don't allow any girls in our fort, do we, Ralph?
04:13Oh, Bert.
04:14Cedric, are you going to join a club that doesn't allow girls?
04:19Well...
04:20Ah, Cedric, remember the secret handshake?
04:25Well...
04:25Cedric?
04:26And don't forget the secret initiation.
04:29That's the best part.
04:31Well, I guess so.
04:33I think.
04:35Secret handshake?
04:37Secret initiation?
04:38I still don't see why I can't come.
04:42Well, if you really want to know, it's because of the haunted house.
04:47Haunted house?
04:49Yeah, the haunted house.
04:51It's not the safest place.
04:54Oh, I'm not afraid of a darned old haunted house.
04:58Oh, well, what about ghosts?
05:04Ghosts?
05:05Not g-g-g-g-g-g-ghosts.
05:07Just your plain, ordinary, scare you right out of your wits, ghosts.
05:13That's all.
05:14What ghosts?
05:16Whenever there's a full moon out,
05:19the ghosts come out in the forest
05:21to scare unsuspecting campers.
05:27They attack when you least suspect it.
05:32Slowly and quietly, they sneak up behind you
05:36and then...
05:37Well, we don't want to go to your silly old fort anyway,
05:42do we, Melissa?
05:44I guess not.
05:46Melissa, we won't be gone long.
05:49It's just a night with the guy.
05:51Come on, let's get going.
05:52Now, are you sure you boys are going to be okay
05:56all alone out there?
05:58Ha, don't worry about us.
06:00We're trailblazers.
06:02Pioneers.
06:04We know that wilderness like the back of our hands.
06:08Come on, trophy.
06:14Well, we'll see you girls later.
06:16Bye.
06:18Bye.
06:18Bye.
06:19Bye now.
06:21Bye.
06:22Bye.
06:28Wouldn't you know it?
06:30Bert forgot his moose horn.
06:32So, the three brave hikers were off on their adventure
06:36without a care in the world.
06:44Hey, all that stuff about ghosts,
06:47that wasn't really true, was it?
06:49Nah.
06:50And all that stuff about scaring campers out of their minds,
06:54that wasn't true either, was it?
06:57Nah.
06:57I just said that stuff to scare the girls.
07:02That's a relief.
07:05And all that stuff about a haunted house,
07:09you were just kidding about that too, right?
07:12Nope.
07:16Hey, Sedgwick.
07:17Come on.
07:19Are we men or are we mice?
07:24One for all and all for one.
07:27We would stand on Saturday nights,
07:30the boys and me in line,
07:33fighting for the chance to dance with you.
07:39I can still remember,
07:43the look upon your face.
07:46You were so surprised when I told you.
07:51Oh, lie for you.
07:53Wake up.
07:54I knew it was forever,
07:58all life long.
08:01I knew we couldn't stop,
08:05all life long.
08:08I knew it was forever,
08:11all life long.
08:14We'd still go back there,
08:21no Saturday nights,
08:24the same old band in gray and blue.
08:28And I can still remember,
08:34still remember,
08:35you and the boys in line.
08:39I still want to dance with you.
08:44All life long.
08:45Oh,
08:47I'm hungry.
08:53I'm hungry.
09:04Hey, I'm hungry.
09:06Aren't we there yet?
09:08Well, if my map is right, it's just over this hill and around that corner.
09:13But before we can reveal the secret location, Cedric, we have to teach you the secret handshake.
09:19Eww! The secret handshake!
09:23Remember, you can't show this to anybody.
09:27Not even to Sophia?
09:29Especially not Sophia. She's a girl.
09:33Okay, Cedric. Now watch.
09:35Kaboom-ba-boop-a-tap-a-dee-pah-pah.
09:38Rub your belly with linseed oil.
09:41Wrap your head in aluminum foil.
09:44Clap your hands, stamp your feet.
09:46A secret handshake can't be beat.
09:49Yuckoo!
09:51Bravo! Bravo!
09:53Now, you try it with me, Cedric.
09:58Rub your belly.
10:00Oof!
10:00Don't worry, Cedric. It takes a few times to get the hang of it.
10:07Yeah, Bert. It took you three years.
10:10Well, come on! Let's go!
10:17Hey! Hey!
10:18There's the fort!
10:19There's the fort!
10:21Come on, let's go!
10:23Last one ends in right in May.
10:26That's it?
10:27That's the fort you guys have been bragging about?
10:31Well, I guess it does need a little work here and there.
10:35A little work?
10:36It needs an architectural firm.
10:39Ah, nothing a little hammering can't fix up.
10:43Huh.
10:43We're the guys, remember?
10:45Uh, I don't have to sleep in this broken-down old thing, do I?
10:50Of course not, Cedric.
10:52Ralph and I are sleeping in here.
10:55Yeah, but you, you're sleeping over there.
10:59That's your initiation.
11:01Meanwhile, as the raccoons unpacked, on the other side of the hill, Cyril Sneer was on a forced vacation.
11:14Doctor's orders.
11:14Get those blasted birds off my antenna!
11:25I can't get the financial report!
11:27But, sir, you're not supposed to watch that.
11:30You're supposed to get some rest!
11:33Rest?
11:33How can I rest with all this quiet?
11:36This silence is driving me crazy!
11:38If it wasn't for those pesky raccoons, I'd be a well man today!
11:44Now, calm down, sir.
11:46Remember what the doctor said.
11:48Don't even think about them!
11:50Huh!
11:51Don't worry about me!
11:53I'm steady as a rock!
11:57Boy, this unpacking sure works up an appetite.
12:02Huh.
12:03Let's eat!
12:03Uh, yeah.
12:05I'm starved.
12:07What's for lunch?
12:08The specialty of the house.
12:10What else?
12:12Beans!
12:13Yahoo!
12:15Let me at them!
12:17That's it?
12:18Just beans?
12:20I can see you've got a lot to learn about roughing it with the boys.
12:25Uh, who's got the can opener?
12:27I thought you packed it.
12:29Uh, we don't need a can opener.
12:31We're tough.
12:32I'll just use a rock.
12:39I see you have a lot to learn about the fine art of cuisine.
12:46You could have at least heated them up.
12:49Ah, this is the life.
12:52No cares, no worries.
12:54And no food.
12:56Now let's get to work and make this place ship-shape.
12:59Well, maybe the doctor was right.
13:05Maybe I do need a break.
13:07Ah, this isn't so bad after all.
13:10We knew you'd like it, sir.
13:12A man can really get in touch with himself.
13:18I feel like I'm one with nature already.
13:21Nothing here but peace, solitude, fresh air.
13:26Cable TV.
13:27Hey, you!
13:28Bring that umbrella back here.
13:30What are you trying to do?
13:31Turn me purple?
13:31Yes, sir.
13:33I mean, no, sir.
13:36So beautiful.
13:38So restful.
13:39So quiet you can hear a...
13:42Ah!
13:43What in place is all that racket?
13:45Sounds like a carpenter's convention.
13:47Calm down, sir.
13:48Somebody's building condos up here without my permission.
13:52Oh, shall we check it out, sir?
13:54Now that's a good idea.
13:57Of course I want you to check it out, you niggum poops.
14:00Why do you think I pay you that fancy salary?
14:03But we've never been paid.
14:05The check's in the mail.
14:06And so will you be if you don't get going.
14:09Huh, that doesn't look half-fat.
14:16Hey, Cedric!
14:17You're catching on real quick.
14:19You're gonna make a great member of the club.
14:22I can hardly wait.
14:28So, uh, when do we go to the haunted house, Ralph?
14:31As soon as it gets dark.
14:34Uh, Bert, do you think it might be too scary?
14:37Scary?
14:38Ha!
14:39Nah, we're tough.
14:43Why, it's those pesky raccoons again.
14:46The boss is gonna flip.
14:48Why, his blood pressure will go right through the roof.
14:51They're going to the haunted house.
14:54Are you thinking what I'm thinking?
14:57We can take care of this ourselves.
15:01Hee-hee-hee!
15:03Oh, good, goodie!
15:04Hee-hee-hee-hee-hee!
15:06Well, Cedric, those beans ought to hold you till morning.
15:23They'll hold me for a month.
15:25Huh, it's a good thing there's a full moon, so we can find our way.
15:32Full moon?
15:33G-g-g-didn't you say you were kidding about ghosts coming out when there's a full moon?
15:39Bert was just saying that to scare the girls.
15:43Listen, Cedric, you don't have to stay here tonight if you don't want to.
15:48We'll understand.
15:49And you can still join the club.
15:51Yeah, great idea.
15:55No.
15:56No?
15:57No.
15:58This is important to me.
16:01I'm going to go through with this.
16:03I'm going to sleep in the haunted house tonight.
16:06Oh, no.
16:13This isn't so bad after all.
16:16At least there's no thunderstorms.
16:21What was that?
16:23Come on, it's just a bat.
16:25You guys are acting like a bunch of sissies.
16:29I knew we shouldn't have gone out on a full moon.
16:32Oh, no.
16:47Oh, it was just a win.
17:06Yarek!
17:09Oh, it was just a win.
17:19Oh, it was just a win.
17:25Oh, it was just a win.
17:31Oh, it was just a win.
17:41Oh, oh!
17:53Oh, oh!
17:59Oh!
18:06Yeah!
18:09Thank you!
18:21Oooh!
18:22Thanks!
18:23Oooh!
18:24Well, Bert, is that you?
18:37Is it Cedric?
18:43Hey, where did they go?
18:45I think we scared them clear across the lake.
18:49Boy, we sure shot them.
18:54They couldn't run away fast enough.
18:56Wait till the boss hears about this.
18:58We'll probably get a raise.
19:05It was just the wind.
19:24I knew it would be a good idea to bring Bert his moose horn.
19:35Let's go find out how our big tough guys are doing.
19:38Gee, I hope they're all right.
19:41Maybe we shouldn't have let them go out by themselves.
19:45You know how defenseless they can be.
19:49There haven't been any noises lately.
19:52Do you think the ghosts have gone away?
19:55Yeah, I think the c-c-coast is clear.
19:59Quick, Sophia. Down here.
20:02I'm stuck in a dungeon in a haunted house, and I'm never going to see Sophia again.
20:09I'm sorry, guys. It's all my fault.
20:13If only the girls were here, we wouldn't be in this mess.
20:17Yeah, I'd even let them join the club.
20:21Yeah, I'd even teach them the secret handshake.
20:25Yeah, and no initiation.
20:28Do you mean that?
20:29What was that?
20:31Melissa!
20:32Sophia!
20:33What are you doing here?
20:35Well, someone had to take care of you.
20:38Boy, are we ever glad to see you.
20:41Here, grab onto this and we'll pull you up.
20:44Gee, thanks.
20:46We were expecting you all along.
20:49Oh, Bert.
20:51Where's my hot milk?
20:54What kind of service is this around here, anyway?
20:57Those pigs know I can't sleep without my hot milk.
21:00When I get my hands on them, I'll take the curl out of their tails.
21:06Did you bring me anything special, Sophia?
21:10Oh, yes, Cedric.
21:12Great. What is it? Peanut butter?
21:14Even better, Bert.
21:16Chocolate pudding?
21:17No.
21:18No.
21:19Something you boys would really enjoy.
21:22Beans!
21:23Beans?
21:31Hey, Melissa.
21:32Let's try that secret handshake again.
21:34I've got a better idea.
21:36Let's all try it together.
21:38Rub your belly in linseed oil
21:41and wrap your head in aluminum foil.
21:47And as the two frightened hikers ran from the haunted house,
21:51the front door mysteriously closed behind them.
21:54Whew.
21:55Time for bed, kids.
21:58It's just shade for Tommy.
22:09Honestly, boys sometimes.
22:11That night, Melissa and Sophia taught Ralph, Bert, and Cedric a valuable lesson in the wilderness.
22:24It's not what's on the outside, it's what's on the inside that counts.
22:29Whether you're talking about ghosts or friends, you can't judge a book by its cover.
22:34Shut your head up and DEFE
22:42If you were thinking about a island we have something hidden after all drummers.
22:49How is it as leafless in origin?
22:51Where is it?
22:54That way you might start to live, but
22:55how is it really interesting?
