00:28Now she provides a fully accessible monthly newsletter for members with visual impairments and collaborates with rail and local bus services to ensure inclusivity.
00:42Additionally, she provides sighted guide training to numerous businesses in Worthing, equipping them to be better support in our community.
00:52So that's Peter. The winner of the 2025 Disability Award is Alison Bates.
00:59It would be the best thing to ever happen to me. Not just because of what it does for me, the confidence and the independence that I have within myself.
01:08It's the people around me who just fell there a few tables away.
01:11But it's what it does for other people, and because I've put myself out there, and I'm willing to be that person that allows themselves to fall for other people not to,
01:20it means I can't not do it anymore. I just have to keep carrying on.
01:24And I...
01:26That's the worst!
