Chennai, May 28, 2025 (ANI): Amid the controversy surrounding actor Kamal Haasan's reported remarks that “Kannada is born out of Tamil”, BJP leader Tamilisai Soundararajan on May 28 slammed DMK by saying that they want to politicise the language issues. “I am proud as a Tamilian but at the same time, I am proud as Indian. Whenever we express some views of other language, we have to very careful. When DMK leaders commenting on other languages, we used to comment. As Tamil is our own mother tongue, for other brothers and sisters that language is their mother tongue. We have to respect that. Why these type of controversies are prevailed in Tamil Nadu? DMK repeatedly interested in divisive politics. Particularly, they want to politicise the language issues. Our PM Modi repeatedly says Tamil is the oldest language. When we celebrate the richness of our language, we have to respect the sentiments of other language also. We should be careful on expressing our views on languages…,” said Tamilisai Soundararajan.
