00:00We learned, Nick Friedel, that one of the great things about getting to talk hoops with you is that you can connect your Chicago roots, your Bulls observances from then and from now to what we are watching play out, you know, here in these playoffs.
00:16Because it's in the back of my mind as I watch the Knicks fight and stay alive and see Thibs and all of that.
00:21But just, you know, obviously just how far away the Bulls are from this thing.
00:26The first thing that always comes up for me, though, is Tyrese Halliburton.
00:29And I wonder, was he even an option at number four when they took Patrick Williams instead?
00:37Halliburton goes 12. Tyrese Maxey goes 21 in that draft, by the way.
00:42But like, was how do you remember? Was Halliburton even discussed as a top five option at the time?
00:48Oh, Mr. Spiegel. I mean, I love being on with you all because I feel like every time I come on, it's just more trouble that I get in with somebody in the organization and somebody gets really pissed off.
00:59But I can tell you specifically about Halliburton in this conversation is he absolutely had support in some portions of that front office.
01:10That support was not enough.
01:11But to think that that name wasn't talked about and it wasn't getting pushed in the moment, that's not true because Halliburton had some voices in there.
01:21People were very, very high on him. It just didn't happen.
01:26And Patrick Williams was the guy. And that's that's a mess of its own.
01:30But specific to Halliburton, he had some big fans within that Bulls front office.
01:36And I know for sure his name was mentioned in the discussion there.
