00:00I've been on stage and I've been dancing since I was three years old.
00:05So as I've gotten older, I became very comfortable with being on stage.
00:08I love performing.
00:09Now that I'm older and dance is kind of put behind me,
00:13and I have met my wonderful husband who happens to be a rapper.
00:16And he has a home studio.
00:18He has all the stuff that he's always doing.
00:20And I found a little passion for it by hanging out with him
00:23and watching him in the studio.
00:25And it was something I wanted to try.
00:27I never actually thought it was something I would really take super serious at the beginning.
00:32Maybe I was just like a little shy, maybe I was a little insecure.
00:35But he's been really supportive.
00:37He thought it was something worth putting his time into.
00:40So I had brought up to his attention one day that maybe I would like to try.
00:45And, you know, he put me in the studio and that's how it all started.
00:50With me being really new to this, I'm really trying to find my lane.
00:55I know it's 2024 and the girls are doing what they do, but I'm also a mom.
01:01So I'm really trying to find a respectable lane for myself where I can still be sexy,
01:06but I can, you know, have respect, something that my kids could listen to,
01:10something that my kids could watch and not feel uncomfortable with.
01:13That's very, very important to me.
01:15So I'm really trying to find the right avenue for myself.
01:20You know, it's good to finally get to work with someone, especially a person I care about like my wife.
01:26You know, I'm putting in the time and effort to see her flourish and, you know, grow as an artist,
01:34grow as a wife and a mother and find, like she said, find the lane where she can fit in and still be respected for her craft.
01:42And not just because she looks good.
01:44Cause I mean, let's, let's get serious here.
01:46A lot of women, if they're not showing skin, they're not getting these opportunities.
01:50And I think it's unfair to the talented women out there who need to do that to get views.
01:56So some of the challenges that I face working with Justine is the not knowing the business side of things
02:05and the artistry side of things sometimes and trying to teach her so much at once and not understanding that I've learned this over 20 years.
02:14Being inconsiderate to the fact that it's taken me a long time to learn everything and wanting to kind of, you know, cramp it all up and concise it and give it to her and expect for her to learn it immediately.
02:26So, you know, my patience is not really that good when it comes to teaching.
02:29I'm a horrible teacher, but I try to kind of guide her through the things.
02:33So working with my husband is amazing.
02:36He's super talented.
02:38He's teaching me a lot.
02:39He's, you know, really putting his time into helping me.
02:42And I appreciate him so much, but, but he's a hard ass.
02:48He can be tough on me at times.
02:51And I know he's just trying to push me to get the best out of me, but it doesn't always end well in that studio.
02:56Sometimes I got to walk away and I just hope that it doesn't run into our marriage and we take it upstairs because I love him so much.
03:03You know, when we're in the studio, we're working.
03:05We're not playing no games.
03:06Like, you know, when she laughs, sometimes I just give her a look like, listen, let's get this done.
03:10Like, and it's not because I don't want her to have fun, but it's because I take this craft so serious that I don't go in there to play.
03:18And I want her to, you know, feel the same way about it.
03:20Like, you know, when we in there, it's crunch time.
03:23You know, I'm co-writing, I'm producing, I'm mixing.
03:26We're sending it out to get mastered.
03:28These records that are coming out are really performed and professional records.
03:32Like, it's not something that we're just slapping together from a rinky dink studio and expecting to get a million views.
03:39We're putting in the time and effort.
03:41And, you know, just as little bit as that little, we need that out of there.
03:46Do it over.
03:47You know what I'm saying?
03:48So she's, she's remarkable and she stunned me.
03:52And this is how I know she was made for it because she's just catching on so fucking fast.
03:56It's scaring me.
03:58Okay, so listen, you know, I've loved music my whole life, but this is the first time I'm actually putting myself out there to do it.
04:05And it's not easy.
04:06It takes a lot of hard work.
04:08It's not something that you can just jump into like I'm doing.
04:11If I didn't have the support of my husband to guide me and teach me, you know, I'd be lost without him.
04:17This is very hard.
04:19I'm trying my best.
04:21I'm putting myself out there.
04:22And, you know, the women and the men that do this full time and have been doing it for years, you know, I respect you guys so much.
04:30This is not an easy job.
