‘I’m Very Optimistic’: Bill Hagerty Reaffirms His Confidence GENIUS Act On Stablecoins Will Pass

During a Senate Republican press briefing on Tuesday, Sen. Bill Hagerty (R-TN) spoke about the GENIUS Act.

00:30We've had an enormous amount of input on this bill.

00:33It's been on the streets since October.

00:35I can tell you we've had every list you could imagine of final demands and final terms coming

00:41from the Democrats.

00:42I was very pleased to see 16 of them join us last night.

00:45We were actually at one point at 18 and two of them pulled back.

00:48But I'm very optimistic that we'll get there.

00:50There are technical tweaks that people need.

00:52I've told them I'm more than happy to work with them to get that done.

00:55And I'm going into this with an optimistic viewpoint that we ought to be able to get

00:59here to conclude this legislative activity by the end of the week, I'm hopeful.
