00:00May 29, 2025. It will mark two years since President Bola Ahmed Tonobuo was sworn in as Nigeria's president.
00:11Two years of policies, promises and plenty of public opinion.
00:16So we hit the streets of Lagos to find out how the Nigerians really feel about his time in office so far.
00:24And here is what they have to say.
00:26Now two years, to me, it's a two years of disaster.
00:31Because it's a two years of suffering for Nigerians.
00:35You know, when he was coming on board the first day of his inauguration, he was saying,
00:38first of all, it is gone.
00:40If they take this sweat to Suso Amo, the Nigerian will get it down at cheaper rates.
00:44But the reverse is the case. That's why I said the two years is a two years of disaster.
00:47There's no need to show for it.
00:49And Nigerians are hungry, they don't know about it.
00:51In 2027, you can look at the situation in Nigeria as a workplace situation.
00:56The opposition party that is supposed to, you know, go against the government,
01:02all of them, you know, are defecting to APC.
01:05Maybe because they are afraid to be pro by the SEC.
01:09But wanting to ensure, if all the whole political parties in Nigeria, like PDP, all of them defect to APC,
01:18the voting in 2027 is going to be Nigerian against APC.
01:23So I believe people are going to vote their minds.
01:25So if they, like, let the whole political party defect from PDP to APC,
01:31they are going to see surprise in 2027 by special grace of God.
01:35Because everybody is angry, everybody is hungry.
01:37There is no pretence about it.
01:39At least we should say the facts.
01:41There's hope in the government.
01:42Because when there's life, there's hope.
01:46I believe there's hope, more performance is still coming.
01:50So something that's damaged for a decade of years, it's not easy to repair it.
01:55It's not a problem, it's not a repair it.
01:57If you come back, it's welcome.
01:58Because nobody is private, but I know that he will perform, he will still try his best.
02:04Tinumbu, two years in Norviz, is very hard to a lot of people in Nigeria.
02:08But when gelatin is there, everything is going smoothly.
02:11Everybody has money to eat, to do some other things.
02:15But time of Tinumbu is very tight for everybody.
02:18There is no easy for everybody to have his, to eat, transport, wealth, custody, something like that.
02:28But time they are at their own regime.
02:30But Tinumbu, they are putting people out not to protest.
02:34But their own time, their own regime, they are blocking people to protest.
02:39And what they are doing for masses is not okay.
02:41That in 2027, it will be hard.
02:45It will be hard, it will be Tinumbu with masses of Nigeria.
02:49Nothing to show about Tinumbu.
02:51Tinumbu, you call yourself Yoruba.
02:56No matter anything, you don't call yourself.
02:59Either it is Yahusha, it is Igbo, or it is Yoruba.
03:02But when you are in Canada, they are self-centered.
03:06A prayer for Nigeria is that God will elect a good government for us.
03:12In our response, people, they will never let know.
03:15If they are still giving them to 2,000 or 1,000, they will still kill on the inside sun.
03:21They will never pay their children's school fee.
03:24Good afternoon, Mr. President.
03:26And I want to use this medium to talk to you.
03:29Please, look at the youth of Nigeria.
03:31We are really suffering.
03:33There is no job opportunity.
03:35There is a lot going on in the life of so many people.
03:38Please, I am using this opportunity to beg you.
03:41Do something different for your people.
03:44We are your people.
03:45Tinumbu, as a leader, please let him know what he will do for Nigeria.
03:50To make Nigeria better.
03:52Nigeria is suffering.
03:53The suffering is too much.
03:55And we are begging him that he should use his good state to do Nigeria better.
04:01That's the only thing that I will say.
04:03With my age, we have witnessed a lot of different types of governments.
04:10Right from military to democratic governments.
04:15No one can say this is the perfect government.
04:19Really.
04:20And we are all human beings.
04:22No human being is perfect.
04:24Let me tell you.
04:25Anarchically, Tinumbu is the president.
04:29He cannot be going here and there.
04:31That's why he has ministers.
04:33He has this, he has that working for him.
04:35These people are the people supposed to come back and give him a genuine report.
04:41But, if they can give him a genuine report, that means he will make a good decision.
04:47No man is perfect.
04:48Perfection is synonym to the creator of God.
04:52We all see what is happening.
04:55I cannot blame the president.
04:58Do you understand?
04:59I cannot blame this president.
05:00Because he has, in his states, we have 36 states and Abuja is 37 states.
05:06He cannot be at all the states at the same time.
05:11He is putting people there.
05:13What the governors are doing.
05:14If you talk of Tinumbu, thank God, I am not belonging to any party presently.
05:22I am a neutral person.
05:24Do you understand?
05:25But, realistically, people are feeling hungry, suffering.
05:30I cannot say this is the person who calls it.
05:34Alright, you have heard it all from Nigerians.
05:37What they make of two years of President Tinumbu in office.
05:40And, yes, different opinions and different views from these people.
05:45Many believe it's been two years of anguish and lots of difficulties for them.
05:50While also many believe that whatever that's going to be good is always bad at first.
05:55We are hoping from this end that the remaining two years of President Tinumbu can bring forth more goodness for the people of Nigeria.
