Netflix Becomes New Streaming Home For Sesame Street, Gains Past Episodes And Video Game Rights In New Deal

Netflix has secured exclusive global streaming rights to the next three seasons of Sesame Street, according to CNBC. The streaming giant will hold exclusive global premiere streaming rights for Sesame Street seasons 56 through 58, while new episodes will still air on PBS and PBS Kids’ digital platforms in the U.S. The deal also grants Netflix access to 90 hours of past episodes and rights to develop video games based on the program and its spinoff, Mecha Builders. Warner Bros. Discovery ended its five-year streaming deal with Sesame Street in December, prompting a search for a new distribution partner.
