00:00Let's start with the tush-push ban that was proposed by the Green Bay Packers.
00:05A little bit of the changing of the wording of this proposed legislation yesterday.
00:10Pooling, grabbing, pushing a player forward, DRS, at the early spring meetings at the breakers in Palm Beach.
00:18Now, a month and a half, two months ago, whatever it was, it was pretty contentious.
00:22DRS basically split the room for teams and owners that were in favor of banning the tush-push and teams that were still in favor of letting it be a play.
00:33Now, of course, your team, DRS, the Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles, are really the only team that succeeds in the brotherly shove.
00:42That succeeds in pulling off the tush-push with any level of consistent success.
00:48So where do you fall on the tush-push ban?
00:51Should it happen? Will it happen?
00:54I don't know, but here's the thing that's interesting, too, because you saw last year and you see the eclipse running by with the, you know, embarrassment.
01:01That was the commanders who showed up and didn't even play a football game and then tried to make a mockery of the tush-push going,
01:05we can't stop it, so we'll try to delay and embarrass everybody, and you only embarrass yourself on that.
01:09But also, there is something, too, the defense can't push, but the offense can push.
01:13I understand that.
01:14But understand this.
01:15The NFL is all about offense, Ben.
01:17And when I was growing up, again, this isn't too long ago, 90s and even into the early 2000s, there was a time where it was fourth and about maybe a football on the plus 37-yard line,
01:29and they were punting footballs and making them cough in corners.
01:31So this is an extension of the offense that goes, okay, if we have a team like the Eagles and anybody can use this play, it's not just grandfathered in,
01:38we're, all right, we're on our own 40-yard line.
01:40Let's run the tush-push and keep the football.
01:43Isn't that better than punting the football down to the opposing team's 15?
01:46Doesn't the NFL want more offense?
01:48This is more offense.
01:49It's just a team that worked it out that goes, and yes, Jeffrey Lloyd said the single most important thing in this,
01:54we invest in our offensive line.
01:56We invested in an athletic quarterback.
01:59This is why we do it.
02:00It's not our fault that you drafted a seventh-round center that can't push anybody around and a quarterback that's 6'3 and a pencil and can't move the pocket.
02:08Those are objective things.
02:09I wouldn't be tremendously upset if it was canceled, but it just seems like the people that are trying to cancel and get it out of the football are like,
02:16well, we didn't invest it and we can't run it, so let's take it out because we can't do it.
