00:26think the commissioner of baseball was going to make him eligible but basically they used sort of

00:30this backdoor idea uh to do that and and also i can tell you that george i believe the commissioner

00:37does not want to hold any culpability on the hall of fame you know the ineligible list just happens

00:41to be a byproduct of how you vote in the hall of fame but the two entities are separate yes

00:45it's a museum and yes they combine all of the two things but really one thing has nothing to do with

00:50the other major league baseball does not vote on who gets into the hall of fame the hall of fame does

00:54but if you're on the ineligible list he can't be on there okay so now he is uh eligible and will not

01:01be voted this year because of the fact that they're going to vote in players from the 80s that's the next

01:06decade to go in so then the following year george will find out as to whether or not

01:11uh leave he does uh get in to the hall of fame so i guess we could do this for two hours but since

01:18it's a fantasy show we'll just do it for another minute you know george i i do think that there's a good

01:22shot that he gets voted in but until we know who the voters are i don't think we have a clue

01:27i think that's fair i don't think we will know well it's just a couple years away for that committee

01:32he'll need 12 out of 16 votes of the members on that committee uh now i'm old enough i saw rose

01:37play both live and on tv uh no doubt the man played the game harder than anybody else i've ever seen

01:42so he deserves credit for that it's everything off the field that's the issue and hall of fame does have

01:47a character and integrity clause then again there are a lot of guys in that hall of fame whose

01:51character integrity are deeply in question here hall of fame's a museum bottom line is you can't tell

01:57the history of baseball without beat rose that's just the bottom line for me man he wasn't a good
