00:00The Kia EV6. The Kia EV6 is a battery electric compact crossover SUV produced
00:09by Kia. Introduced in March 2021, it is the first Kia dedicated electric vehicle
00:16and the first model developed on the electric global modular platform, EGMP,
00:22similar to the Hyundai Ioniq 5. It is also the first model to be named under the
00:28new nomenclature designated for a line of Kia electric cars EV series which will
00:34range from EV1 to EV9. The EV6 is the 2022 European Car of the Year.
00:42Overview. The EV6 was released on 2nd August 2021 after a set of pictures were
00:50revealed on 15 March 2021. Developed under the code name CV, it is the first Kia
00:58model based on the EGMP electric car platform. The GT model is claimed to have
01:05a 0 to 100 kilometers per hour or 0 to 62 miles per hour time in 3.5 seconds.
01:14With dual electric motors producing 430 kilowatts of power and 740 metric newtons of torque combined.

02:52EV6 GT The EV6 GT was released on 4 October 2022.
03:00It is a high performance version of the EV6, supposed to go from 0 to 100 kilometers per hour in 3.5 seconds.
03:07EV6 GT features 4 piston calipers with a monoblock front wheel that improves the size and performance over the wheel base model,
03:19and a body strengthened with front strut ring and rear luggage floor reinforcement bars.
03:25There is also Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires, a rear electronic limited slip differential, and electronically controlled suspension.
03:37In addition, rack driven power steering and variable gear ratio technology optimizes steering response to speed,
03:46and GT mode with RBM function that maximizes the use of regenerative braking and Kia's first drift mode are applied.
03:57The design features GT specific 21-inch wheels with contrasting neon green colored brake calipers,
04:06vertical elements across the front digital tiger nose grille, front and rear bumpers, and a rear diffuser.
04:14The interior is equipped with unique sport bucket seats with neon green piping and stitching,
04:20artificial sweat door cards, and a GT mode button on the steering wheel.
04:28However, compared to the regular EV6 models, the EV6 GT does not come with ventilated seat functionality,
04:35electric seat adjustment, auto dip down wing mirrors when reversing,
04:41and has less claimed driving range with higher energy consumption.

04:51The facelifted EV6 was revealed on 14 May 2024.

06:51Manufacturing of most EV6 variants for the North American market is expected to move to Kia's West Point, Georgia assembly plant for the 2025 model year,

07:08However, vehicles with the GT trim level will still be manufactured in Korea.
07:14It is expected to make the Georgia-made EV6 models eligible for the US Federal EV Tax Credit.
07:21On Georgia-made vehicles, 2025 also swaps the CCS charging port for the Tesla-style NACS SAE J3400 port,
07:34and moves the charge port location from the rear passenger side to the rear driver side of the car.

07:49The EV6 went on sale in Australia on 25th February 2022, with three variants, the Air, GT Line RWD, and GT Line AWD.
