Biggest moments from inside the Diddy trial courtroom

00:00I've been in the courtroom for the Diddy trial throughout the week.

00:03Here are the big takeaways from week one.

00:04Federal prosecutors are accusing Diddy of sex trafficking and racketeering.

00:08Inside the courtroom, it's pretty somber.

00:10I think the real gravity of the charges, the nature of the allegations have been sinking in.

00:14So one of the big moments in the trial is when we saw the famous hallway video

00:19where Diddy drags Cassie down the hallway, kicks her, beats her.

00:22And we did hear testimony from a security guard at the hotel who intervened after that moment

00:28and who was watching what was happening on the security monitor.

00:31A big moment in the trial came when Cassie was being cross-examined by Diddy's lawyer

00:36about her relationship with Kid Cudi.

00:38She says that this relationship was brief.

00:40It started when she and Diddy wanted a break in their relationship.

00:42And she said that when Diddy found out, he was furious.

00:45He beat her.

00:46He threatened to blow up Kid Cudi's car.

00:48And later in 2012, Kid Cudi's car did blow up.

00:51I think that Cassie's testimony is one of the things that,

00:54unless you're really there looking at her like the jury is and like I am,

00:57it's hard to really understand the impact of it.

00:59She is eight months pregnant.

01:01She, very clearly from her demeanor, would rather be anywhere else

01:04than testifying in front of this group of strangers about these awful moments in her life.

01:08Cassie talked about her long relationship with Diddy.

01:11It started when she was a young up-and-coming artist and signed with his record label.

01:15And then about six months into their relationship,

01:17he introduced her to this idea of freak-offs,

01:20which is when she would have sex with another man and he would watch.

01:23We'll end a lot more detail about what happened during these freak-offs,

01:26but the details are so graphic that I'm not so comfortable talking about them.

01:29Safe to say that they lasted days on end and she did not want to be there.

01:33The whole argument from Diddy is that they were in this mutually abusive relationship,

01:37they both cheated on each other,

01:39and so it's to make her look like this is complicated and, you know, she had her flaws also.

01:44We did learn at the trial how much Diddy paid Cassie to settle her civil lawsuit against him,

01:49and it's 20 million dollars.

01:51Of course, he still has criminal charges and he is on trial for them.

01:54If he is convicted on all charges, he could spend the rest of his life in prison.
