00:00we started the lightweight tournament for the pfl europe and we've seen some great fighters out of
00:05there we saw some great finishes to the end of that tournament last year so let's talk about
00:09some of those fights there as well as the uh some headline fights the main and co-main event that
00:13were there to draw the eyeballs in to then highlight some of the up-and-comers on the
00:19lightweight scene for the pfl europe of course this was in belfast exactly where the headliner
00:25said he wanted to fight of course paul hughes the lightweight fighting against bruno miranda that
00:29was the main fight for this card hughes of course the you know brash irish fighter had won seven of
00:34eight coming into this fight from belfast had coming off a majority decision loss usman
00:40that was the only loss he had coming into this one in the last eight fights and it was a tough one
00:45you know it was a majority decision he thought he won that fight i don't but still had a great
00:50performance lasts a lot longer than many people have against many of the nirma gun whatever let
00:54alone usman who is the champion of belator uh before we'll see what he does now with the pfl now
00:58that everything has been folded in completely but it was a great battle between those guys a lot of
01:03respect going towards hughes from a lot of people because some people thought that maybe he didn't
01:07deserve that shot so quickly in his career with the major leagues here in pfl and belator but he got
01:12it he lived up to the hype didn't get the victory but still earned a lot of credit from many people now
01:18going against miranda 34 year old brazilian who had six fights in the pfl before and lost two or three
01:24but had beaten patricky pitbull in his last fight in june of 24 but now coming in there against the
01:29hometown guy in hughes hughes had a great performance and gets the first round tko 42 seconds is all it
01:37took for the irishman to get the win in front of belfast just mauling his opponent coming in there
01:44and picking him apart dropping him there and that is the end of that one a great shot by him sometimes
01:50all it takes when you got that kind of power is one shot and he did that and had a great performance
01:55had a great fight in front of the fans had a great event you know everything that he wanted to be i'm
01:59sure you know he talked about how he was dreaming to uh headline an event at that arena got his chance
02:04and certainly delivered and after of course now he is now 14 and 2 that's his seventh career
02:09knockout win of course there was only one guy on his mind after the fight
02:13he wants to fight usman again we'll see if he gets that opportunity that was an impressive
02:39performance that's definitely the type of one to rubber set maybe getting that rematch of course
02:43we'll see what the pfl has in mind uh with some of their upcoming fights that they're going to start
02:47announcing over the next couple months we'll see if usman is in there against somebody else first
02:51or if hughes gets a shot at him once again but still a great performance by him and you know one
02:56thing you like to see too with a guy like that even though he's very rash and cocky and you know
03:00runs his mouth a lot to get what he wants in this fight game he does have a lot of respect when it
03:04comes down to in the end too and we got to see that after the fight as you saw him and miranda out
03:08there uh hanging out a little bit sharing and sharing a beer you know you get in there and you
03:13want to take a guy's head off afterwards though get that warrior mentality that you show the respect
03:17to each other and that's what these guys did out there in belfast so uh great to see for them and
03:22we're looking forward to see both of them back in the cage soon for the pfl then at bantamweight
03:27you had a featured matchup between lewis mcgrillin and alan philpot mcgrillin the 24 year old from
03:32manchester the 2024 pfl europe bantamweight champion now of course uh you know he talked about how
03:38he wants to take a little time to couldn't some of these showcase featured fight kind of things
03:42instead of jumping right into the tournament like uh he couldn't didn't do that this year
03:47oh wait maybe next year we'll see him in that but it didn't go to the dakota ditch of a route where he
03:51wins europe and then comes over to the main pfl tournament he decides to take a year and have
03:55some more fights here and develop more and he did that against philpot the 32 year old from australia
04:00who was having his first pfl fight 21 and 16 coming in now he's 21 and 17 as mcgrillin
04:06gets the second round rear naked choke three minutes and 17 seconds into it as you see there
04:11locking it up getting the body lock throwing the choke on and getting the tap so a good job by
04:17mcgrillin who's now 12 and one in his career and that is his first submission finish you know you
04:22you go on i see the video of him celebrating afterwards basically saying you know who's saying
04:27i got no ground game because obviously before that he had 10 finishes by teo kaotko never had a
04:34submission that's his first one so now he's proving maybe he's not just one-dimensional
04:37and he could be even more dangerous than we thought he was already after winning
04:41that pfl european bantamweight championship
