00:00we start off with a man in a dark room watching a scary movie well he hears
00:12and this elicits a little bit of a reaction from him so he turns startled what does he do though
00:22he just fixes his glasses and goes back to watching the movie oh
00:26so then a few minutes later again i guess whoever was knocking on the door was like
00:35you you need to react to me and then knocks again this time he actually does have a bit of like a
00:41reaction he actually does kind of jump up you know like startled reaction i guess in like two or three
00:49minutes he's further along in the horror movie towards an actually a scary portion of the movie
00:55and he becomes more of a pussy um so he actually does close his eyes and does
01:06you know that kind of thing like closing his eyes and breathing in and out in and out
01:10probably thinking this isn't happening calm down calm down but here's where that doesn't work here
01:17that kind of thing is what we refer to as a fake out when the character is supposed to have that kind
01:27of reaction and then something more is supposed to happen but by that reaction we're supposed to have
01:36like a connection with the character like feel the fear feel the you know bother some of the characters
01:42feelings but because this character is so bland so one-dimensional in fact he doesn't even have a
01:52character we know nothing about this guy it doesn't work it's just some guy being a pussy in his room
02:02all you have to do is literally go turn on the lights and you're fine
02:06anyways so after that he just goes back and watches the movie again so then i guess that whoever was
02:17knocking on the door gives him two middle fingers and finally does another knock
02:25this time he actually grabs his phone looks it towards the door while turning the
02:32flashlight on again because he is in a dark room and what does he do the stupidest decision you can
02:41make in a horror movie while watching a horror movie he walks towards the door and here is probably the
02:51second and most biggest mistake in the short film in my opinion
02:56terrible usage of background music see background music is used to draw the audience in to make them
03:07feel what you know was happening on screen and to an extent this guy had the perfect situation up he's
03:14going towards the door you know it's kind of pov his hands going there but the background music starts
03:21so early that when it ends like all the intensity all the oh it's gonna happen it's gonna happen
03:30it's gonna happen stops because he does a full like 30 seconds more of his hand
03:38right here towards like the doorknob and him going
03:41before opening it and we get our big jump scare you're not supposed to do that when you have
03:51your typical like scary build-up music that he does in this film you're supposed to open the
03:59fucking door right when the music ends
04:06because otherwise you've killed all the build-up
04:18and here's the funny thing when he actually starts to stand up like right when he turns his camera towards
04:26the door for a few frames you actually get to see what's on his computer again and it is the nun
04:34ghost from one of the conjuring movies and what actually is the jump scare
04:44a red version of the nun from one of the conjuring movies
