00:00of the world!
00:02Hello and welcome everybody to the Drivers Press Conference ahead of the FIA Formula One Emilia-Romagna
00:09Grand Prix. Two groups coming your way as ever. Group one, Oscar Piastri closest to me, Franco Colopinto and
00:17Lance Stroll. Very warm welcome to you all.
00:20Franco, if we could start with you, please.
00:23Welcome back. Good to see you again. Just how excited are you to go racing again in Formula One?
00:29Really excited.
00:31You know, everything is new again. We start from zero. Of course,
00:37it wasn't the nicest to be,
00:39after winning the last nine races of the last year,
00:43having to step out. It was not what I wanted, but
00:46it was a good time to kind of reflect on what happened last year and to learn from it. So, happy to be back.
00:52Of course, never nice circumstances when it happens
00:57like this, when you step in another driver's seat.
01:01But, you know, you never really choose the moment you get in Formula One and I just take it,
01:06try to do my best and try to maximise the team for the job.
01:11Tell us about your preparation. What have the last ten days or so been like for you?
01:15Yeah, there has been a lot of work in the background,
01:19apart of the last couple of days also. Before, you know, I've been doing a lot of teamwork
01:23for the team, of course, track-side, but still helping the team to try to develop the car a little bit during race weekends.
01:31And it has been good. Of course, it helped me a bit as well to kind of learn the car, the tools,
01:36the different settings that the team is running. I was not very used to it and
01:41it's quite a big switch from one team to another. So, it has been helpful. And then, of course, the prep for,
01:47since it got announced,
01:49was, you know, very strong and we've been doing a lot of things in the team.
01:54So, happy. I think, again, a pretty long time since I've been in a race weekend.
01:59So, a bit rusty maybe, but I think it's going to come off very quickly in F1 and F2.
02:03Franco, a long time since you've been at a race weekend, but when was the last time you drove a Formula One car?
02:09Has there been any TPC running or was it Abu Dhabi?
02:12I drove the day after it got announced in Sandburg.
02:17So, I think it was one day before you guys were there. A lot of fans. It wasn't really a private test.
02:24How was the neck?
02:25It was OK. Still, you know, getting kind of used to it, the body back to the G's.
02:32It was a bit tricky at the start, but I think it just takes a while.
02:35Imola is a tough track physically. It's not like my start in Monza, the easiest one of the year,
02:41but, you know, it's great to be back. It's great that it happens in Italy as well.
02:46I have really good memories here and in Monza too.
02:49So, yeah, excited about the weekend and about the work with the team.
02:54And what are your goals for this weekend?
02:56Just, I think, try to focus on myself.
02:59It's very tricky to have any expectations whilst I haven't even driven the car yet.
03:04So, loads of things to learn, but I think we are doing the right steps.
03:10And at the end, if we go little by little, I think I'm going to arrive to a decent place by Sunday.
03:15All right. Good luck with that. Thank you very much, Franco.
03:18Lance, if we could come to you now.
03:21You've finished in the points here at Imola for the last three visits.
03:25You are unbeatable in Formula 3 as well.
03:28Just tell us the secrets of Imola. You clearly go very well here.
03:34Yeah, I mean, it's a track I just always enjoy coming back to.
03:39Yeah, it's got great character.
03:42It's one of those old school tracks.
03:45It's just fun to drive.
03:46And yes, I'm where I've always enjoyed coming racing.
03:49So it's good to be back.
03:52Talk to us about the season now.
03:54There were those points finishes in the first two races.
03:57Obviously, the sprint went well as well in Miami last time out.
04:01But it has been tougher going both for you and Aston Martin these past few races.
04:08What are the limitations of this car?
04:12We just need to find more speed, more performance.
04:18You know, we picked up a few points in
04:24Miami, you know, which was good.
04:26But yeah, just circumstance with the rain and stuff in the sprint.
04:30So we took advantage of that.
04:32But, you know, we're not in a position to score points every weekend
04:36just on pure pace.
04:38So, yeah, we just need to look for performance in all areas
04:42and just keep pushing performance in all areas.
04:45But if we were to compare this year's car with last year's car,
04:49where is it different?
04:52I just don't think it's too different.
04:53So we just haven't made, you know, progress.
04:58It's just kind of the same.
05:00Is it more difficult to drive?
05:01No, no, it's not.
05:04It's just the same.
05:05But, you know, if you're not putting a lot of lap time,
05:10you know, on the car every week and,
05:14you know, developing the car, then, you know, you just kind of fall backwards.
05:19And I think that's, you know, where we ended up.
05:21We're just not putting the lap time that we we hope to be putting on the car.
05:26And therefore, that's why we're just, you know, in a tricky spot right now.
05:29And are the issues track specific or can we be hopeful for Imola
05:34this weekend? We've already discussed how much you like the track.
05:38Yeah, I think naturally there's tracks that suit the car better than others,
05:42but we've been to a lot of different kinds of tracks this year
05:45and we haven't been extremely competitive in any of them.
05:48So, yeah, we'll see how we go this weekend.
05:52All right. Best of luck with that. Thank you.
05:54And Oscar, we'll come to you now.
05:55You took the scenic route to Imola yesterday.
05:59You went via Brigicella to collect your Lorenzo Bandini award.
06:03Just just tell us about that.
06:06It was was very cool.
06:07Definitely an experience that I probably won't have again.
06:11But it was it was a special day.
06:14It was obviously a real honor to receive the award.
06:18But even more so than that, you know, just seeing some of the really passionate
06:21Italian fans, you know, considering I don't drive for the team in red,
06:27it was impressive to see how many people were there.
06:29And then also to meet some of my, OK, now very, very distant relatives.
06:36But some some people from where
06:39my family name originated originated from was was very special as well.
06:43So I'm now a honorary citizen of of Liceano Nardi in Italy,
06:48which is where my great, great, maybe great grandfather was from.
06:54So it was was a special day.
06:56Another home race for another home race.
06:59Yeah, another one.
07:01Let's bring it on track.
07:03You've won four of the opening six.
07:06Just how much are you enjoying the ride at the moment?
07:11I mean, it's pretty hard to say that I'm not when you've won four out of six.
07:15So it's been a great start to the obviously I think, you know, I've been enjoying
07:19obviously the success we've been having on track.
07:22But I think for me, what's been very satisfying is all the work
07:25we've done behind the scenes to achieve that.
07:28Because, you know, it's quite a different feeling when you you win a race
07:33because you feel like you've just gotten by or, you know, you had good circumstances.
07:38But to now be winning because we have an incredibly quick car
07:43and I feel like I'm driving well, that's that's very satisfying for me.
07:46So that's that's what I've been enjoying the most, of course,
07:50been enjoying standing on the podium as well.
07:52But I think, yeah, more so the hard work behind the success.
07:56And on the Sunday of Miami, you were 37 seconds ahead of the first non-McLaren.
08:02Can you explain to us why the gap was so big?
08:06Was that the first time this year that you've unleashed the true potential of the car?
08:13I mean, I think we saw a similar thing in Melbourne in the wet conditions.
08:17But, you know, Miami was potentially a circuit
08:21we were looking forward to from pretty early on.
08:24I think with the hotter temperatures there, we, you know,
08:27given some of the sessions we'd had earlier in the season,
08:31we thought that might play more to our strengths.
08:34And I think Sunday of Miami did prove that.
08:37So I'm not expecting that to be the case every weekend.
08:41I would love that to be the case every weekend.
08:42But I think in those hotter conditions and that circuit characteristic, it is,
08:49you know, I think it will be difficult for us to repeat that result
08:53consistently, so we'll see what we can do.
08:56Repeat that result here in Imola?
09:00I don't know.
09:01We've got very soft tyres this weekend, so maybe that will help us.
09:04But it's obviously a lot cooler than it was in Miami.
09:08So we'll see.
09:10The track is also incredibly different, much bumpier, much higher speed in general.
09:13So we'll see.
09:15I expect the competition to be closer than it was in Miami.
09:18And, you know, we saw in qualifying that
09:21the competition was on our heels and ahead of us.
09:24So, you know, we still have to make sure we go out and execute
09:28everything as well as we can, because if we falter a little bit,
09:31then we've got plenty of competition that can beat us.
09:34All right, Oscar, thank you.
09:35And good luck to you as well.
09:37Let's now open this to the broadcasters.
09:39Who's first, please?
09:42Craig. Yeah, Craig Slater, Sky Sports.
09:44Welcome back, Frank Cool.
09:47Can you explain to us why it's five races you're back for initially?
09:52And what kind of targets or guidance have the team given you
09:56so that you can extend that to at least the end of the season?
09:59I think as a driver, of course, I'm just trying to go step by step.
10:04I don't really know the car, so a lot of new things coming.
10:07And I just want to, you know, do the basics right.
10:10And then the results are going to come.
10:11I'm not really expecting any kind of result.
10:14I think performance of the teams are so, so tight
10:17that they are changing from from track to track,
10:19depending which one is stronger for each.
10:21So at the end, I think, until FP1, FP2, we don't really have a clear,
10:26clear view of where we are at.
10:27So I'm still working a lot with the team.
10:30The main goal for us is to to make the car quicker as well.
10:34We need to find a bit of performance.
10:35And I think that's going to come with a lot of work from me and Pierre.
10:39So that's that's the main goal, to try and improve the performance
10:43and then, of course, after these five races, we will see what happens.
10:50Thank you, Franco.
10:50Mara, San Giorgio Sport Italia, question to Oskar.
10:54You have already won four races, Oskar.
10:57Do you feel you can run away in this world championship?
11:00I mean, do you feel you can the strength to do it?
11:04I mean, I think we have the
11:08strengths and characteristics to to keep winning races.
11:11Definitely, you know, I think we've seen at various tracks
11:16that the competition's been been close.
11:18And again, I'm not expecting every weekend to look like Sunday did in Miami.
11:24But, you know, Friday and Saturday in Miami didn't look as good as Sunday.
11:28That's for sure.
11:28So I think there will be a lot of competition.
11:32But, you know, I feel like I'm driving well at the moment.
11:34I feel like the team's doing a really good job with,
11:37you know, helping me get the most out of myself, get the most out of the car.
11:40And clearly the car is very strong.
11:42So, yeah, I think we have the potential to to have a really good year.
11:47But I'm not not too concerned about that at the moment.
11:50I was trying to win more races.
11:53Thank you, Oskar.
11:54Yeah, Harry.
11:54Harry Benjamins, Sky Sports F1, question to Oskar and actually all of them
11:58if they want to speak on it.
11:59I'm going to bring up the the update to the swearing, I'm afraid,
12:02and how that's been.
12:03Well, the penalty, at least, has been reduced for if you do swear,
12:07no race ban and the fines cut in half.
12:09Do you feel like you're being heard by the FIA?
12:12Are you pleased to see some movement around this?
12:16I think, you know, the fact that there has been changes made is good.
12:21I think also, you know, a lot of the the things in fine print,
12:26you know, there's a lot of the stewards have a lot more control now,
12:30which I think is a good thing as well, because I think the circumstances
12:34definitely need to be taken into account.
12:40So I think it is it's a good step forward.
12:46Yeah, that's all I've got.
12:46I mean, I think, you know, one of the big things for the FIA
12:50was putting something for abusing officials,
12:53which I think is very fair and very reasonable.
12:55I think maybe some of the other areas got a bit caught up
12:59in that kind of sentiment and it felt a bit harsh.
13:03But I think there are some some genuine reasons behind what they're doing.
13:07I think they've listened to some of our feedback
13:10and the changes, I think, are in the right direction.
13:12Lance, can we bring you in on this?
13:16Yeah, I agree with everything Oscar said, I think summed it up well.
13:20Franco. I agree as well.
13:25I guess it's good they are.
13:26They are hearing them because they haven't been in for a while.
13:31All right. Thanks.
13:32So let's any more questions. Yeah.
13:34Hello. A question for Oscar Panos Etanais for Adena TV Greece.
13:39Since McLaren is the team to beat and are the favourites,
13:42how important is it for the intra battle in your team
13:45to have the edge over Lanto in the standings and results
13:49in the beginning of the season?
13:50How much does it change the dynamics within the team?
13:55I don't think it changes it very much, to be honest.
14:00You know, I think
14:02obviously you want to have the edge at the end of the season.
14:05That's where it's most important.
14:06But I think, you know, for me at the moment, I feel like the results
14:09have been a good confidence boost for myself.
14:13So that's always, always important.
14:15And yeah, you know, if we have competition outside of McLaren,
14:19obviously there are benefits, like there are benefits
14:22to being the first car on the track with with pit stops and strategy
14:26and stuff like that.
14:27If you're if you're ahead in anything, there's always going to be advantages
14:30to that. So I think in terms of the mentality
14:35and the feeling in the team, we're still trying as hard as we can,
14:39firstly, to beat all the other teams, but also we want to beat each other.
14:42So I think that's that's going to remain the same for the rest of the year.
14:48Thanks, Nelson.
14:49Nelson Vogler, Viaplay, for all three of you.
14:52The Circuit of Vimola, the event here is a little bit under pressure
14:55on the chopping block, maybe.
14:56How sad would it be to lose this track on the F1 calendar?
15:01Lance, you first.
15:06Yeah, I mean, it's definitely.
15:11I enjoy coming here.
15:14You know, there's a few tracks on the calendar that
15:17they're just very historical and, you know, they're great to drive.
15:21This is one of them.
15:24So, yeah, it would suck to lose it, but we have 25 races
15:28and a lot of countries want races.
15:30So, yeah, it's
15:33for sure tough to squeeze them all in.
15:36But hopefully this one stays.
15:38I like coming here.
15:39Franco, you've won here in the junior formulas.
15:41Well, give us your thoughts on Imola.
15:43Yeah, I love Imola.
15:45I love Italy as well.
15:46I have had, you know, some great memories and great history here.
15:52I started in Monza.
15:54Monza was my debut in Formula One.
15:56Now it's Imola that is still in Italy, but with Alpine.
16:00So I love Imola.
16:03I think it's a great track.
16:04It has a massive history in Formula One.
16:08And I think we all like coming here, you know, for
16:12at the end, the history that this brings into a sport.
16:15It's a great track and also to drive, I think, for the drivers,
16:19especially to drive a Formula One car around here.
16:21And there is some specific corners that, you know,
16:25it's such an old school track that it's just very, very enjoyable to drive in.
16:29So, yeah, I'm just going to try to enjoy this weekend.
16:32And hopefully, yeah, hopefully it stays.
16:37Yeah, I mean, it's a great circuit.
16:39I've only raced here once, but it's definitely
16:42towards the top end of my favorites.
16:44And, you know, I think having two races in the same country
16:48with how many bids we have around the world for other races
16:54maybe doesn't make that much sense anymore.
16:55And when you have Monza as your your second race in Italy,
17:00it's pretty hard to not go to Monza.
17:02I think there'd be some riots if we didn't go there.
17:04So I think for me, we just need to be careful to preserve the history.
17:09Obviously, Zandvoort is going.
17:12Spa is going to be on a rotation, which
17:16yeah, I'm not the happiest about, but I think we just need to be careful
17:19not to lose all of these historical tracks because, OK,
17:22maybe it's not the best to race on around here.
17:24It's not the best overtaking.
17:26But from, you know, the ultimate experience of driving F1 car,
17:30this is definitely towards the top of the list.
17:31So we need to just be mindful to not get rid of that.
17:37OK, guys, thanks for that.
17:38Got time for one more from the broadcasters.
17:40Yeah.
17:40Tom Slayford on Spain.
17:42Question for Franco.
17:42Franco, bienvenido.
17:44I take for what you said before that it was not ideal
17:46to not start the season with the team, but it's not a new situation for you.
17:49Last year, you were quick right from the start.
17:52Has your approach changed since last year or did you learn something
17:55last year that you could apply now to be fast from the beginning?
18:00I don't really think it's
18:02such a new thing.
18:03I think I'm much more relaxed.
18:05I've had the experience of racing.
18:07I've had the experience of being in a race weekend
18:10with a different team, but I'm still, you know, have got that feeling.
18:14I've been racing in December, so it's not that far away.
18:17So it doesn't feel the same as Monza.
18:21Monza was like a massive excitement and everything was new
18:24and was the first time I was going to be a part of a Formula One grid.
18:28So here it feels a bit different.
18:31I still, it's still my dream, you know, come true.
18:34So the feelings are the same, but I just want to to work with the team.
18:38And it's not only that dream of becoming an F1 driver,
18:41but it's also working with the team towards the goals that we have,
18:44having good results, being consistent in the points.
18:46And that's what we want to achieve.
18:48So, yeah, let's focus on the job
18:51and see what we can do.
18:57Welcome back to Imola, everybody.
18:59Part two of our Drivers' Press Conference.
19:01Closest to me, Kimi Antonelli, Esteban Ocon and Liam Lawson.
19:05Very warm welcome to all three of you.
19:07Now, Kimi, can we start with you?
19:10A good omen coming into your home race
19:13with Bologna winning the Cup last night.
19:17And I gather you were out celebrating afterwards as well.
19:21Yeah, it was good fun.
19:24Last night there was the game and we won and the city went pretty crazy.
19:30I was I was out there as well.
19:32Not for long, though, because I still had to come to the track this morning.
19:37But, you know, everyone was like horning the klaxon on the straight.
19:41It was like going crazy.
19:43But it was good fun. I enjoyed it.
19:46Well, look, on track, this is the first time in four years
19:50that the Italian fans have had one of their own to cheer on
19:54at an Italian Formula One race.
19:56Just what does it mean to you to be driving in a home race in Formula One?
20:02Well, for sure, it feels amazing.
20:04You know, it's I think this one is my proper home race,
20:08because, of course, we have Monza as well.
20:11But, you know, I live probably 30 minutes away from from the track.
20:16So is I would say this is my proper home race.
20:19And I'm really excited.
20:21I mean, I really like the track as well.
20:22I think it's a really challenging track, old school.
20:27But, you know, it's it's really good fun to drive around here.
20:30And yeah, of course, I feel, you know, the weekend is going to be a special one,
20:35especially racing in front of all the Italian fans, my family, friends.
20:40So it's going to be intense as well.
20:43But yeah, really excited to hit the track tomorrow and see what we can do.
20:47Do you think we're going to see more Kimi Antonelli flags or Ferrari flags this weekend?
20:53That's well, I don't know.
20:56I mean, hopefully more and more Kimi Antonelli.
20:58But I mean, you know, Ferrari is so big
21:04that it will be a bit also strange to see more of my flags.
21:07But I would not complain as well.
21:09What about on track performance?
21:11The sprint pole, obviously in Miami.
21:14Just how much confidence do you have in the car now?
21:18Well, definitely a lot more than I would say Melbourne.
21:24You know, just getting a great, you know,
21:27at ease with the car and understanding the tires as well.
21:30I think where I made, you know, a really big step was trying to extract
21:35the best out of the tire and trying to put them in in a more decent window
21:40for for the lap.
21:41And I think Miami was a really good step because spring quali obviously was was great.
21:47The actual qualifying was still, you know, was good because we're still up there.
21:52So, you know, that definitely gave me a boost of confidence.
21:56Unfortunately, the race didn't go as I wanted, but, you know,
22:00it didn't hurt my confidence at all.
22:01And, you know, now that we're into the European season,
22:06definitely tracks that I know of much better.
22:09Definitely the approach would be different as well.
22:11And, you know, definitely I can I can still focus a lot on driving,
22:15but as well, I can focus more on trying to, you know,
22:19give the best advice of the car to the engineers in order to improve
22:24and progress even more during the weekend.
22:26So definitely, you know, really excited to to start the European season.
22:31Have you dared to dream?
22:33Dream of a first Formula One podium at home?
22:38I should ask him.
22:39But, you know, we're very in the family.
22:43We're very superstitious, so we don't really talk about this stuff.
22:47I mean, every time I I mean, also Miami, I make an example.
22:52I mean, you know, I was like really excited and I was actually thinking
22:56about the podium and then the race were terribly wrong.
23:00I mean, both in spring race and then the long race.
23:03So, you know, we're very superstitious family and we just think step by step.
23:09Of course, you know, sometimes happens to, you know, it would be to think
23:13that it would be amazing to get a podium, especially at the home race.
23:16And that's for sure the goal.
23:18I mean, just to step on the podium and it will be the the ultimate goal.
23:23I mean, of course, I want to win.
23:25But looking at them more in a more realistic way, the whole picture,
23:29I think, you know, doing a podium here will be will be the dream.
23:33And that's what I'm really going to push for.
23:36Good luck with that.
23:37Thank you, Kimi Esteban.
23:39We'll come to you now.
23:41With HASS's technical department being based in Maranello,
23:44does this feel like something of a home race for you and the team?
23:49I mean, a little bit, of course, you know, we prepare so much in the season,
23:54in the simulator and obviously in the in the part of the team,
23:59you know, in Maranello.
24:00We were there on Tuesday.
24:02I was there at the wind tunnel in Maranello.
24:05So in a way, it is a little bit, you know, part of of the team,
24:10you know, the Italian DNA, which, you know, is very nice.
24:14I was able to spend a couple of days in Italy.
24:16And yeah, it's always special, you know, to to come here.
24:19It's a beautiful track, historical track.
24:22I've been coming to it since quite a long time now.
24:25And yeah, it's an enjoyable one to race on, for sure.
24:28And tell us about your journey with this year's HASS car
24:32in terms of how much performance you're unleashing from it.
24:37Q3 last time out in Miami.
24:40Do you feel now you're on top of it?
24:43I think we've improved a lot, you know, since Melbourne.
24:46We had a very difficult first race
24:49in the year where we were basically last on the grid
24:52and we've managed to, you know, turn the car around and to be a car
24:56that's, you know, fighting for points, you know, every race.
24:59And, you know, we got to
25:02we got a couple of really good ones where we managed to maximise the potential.
25:07But it is very close out there.
25:08And, you know, we need to be continuing to maximise that potential
25:12if we want to be able to be in the scoring point zone.
25:17We will have, you know, a couple of things on the car
25:20which are a little bit different this weekend, which we need to be again on top of.
25:24And hopefully, you know, that will help us to perform
25:28better than the other weeks.
25:31Because, yes, we got Q3 in Miami.
25:33Unfortunately, we came short of points, but we'll be fighting
25:37to get into that zone again.
25:39Esteban, can we just get your thoughts as well on Pirelli
25:42bringing the C6 compound of tyre this weekend?
25:46Yeah, it will be the second time for me running that tyre.
25:50We have run it for the first time
25:53in Abu Dhabi testing, which is a very different track.
25:56I think this is going to open much more unknown and uncertainty
26:00to this track that we know quite well, which should be interesting.
26:04You know, I'm looking forward to be driving that, see, you know,
26:08how the degradation evolves and see if it opens up strategy opportunities.
26:14Brilliant. Good luck with that.
26:15Thank you, Esteban. Liam, thank you for waiting.
26:18So you've been back at Racing Bulls for four races now.
26:22Just how are you bedding in?
26:24How happy are you with the car now?
26:28Yeah, pretty happy.
26:29I think every weekend gets,
26:32you know, you get more comfortable
26:34and also coming to tracks that we've been to before as well.
26:36I mean, obviously, Miami was was a tricky one.
26:39I think in general, to be honest,
26:42I felt pretty comfortable on the car.
26:43I think we've had good speed in the car, but
26:46there's a lot of variables in Formula One.
26:48And just to get a whole weekend together has been quite tough recently.
26:50So obviously we're going to try and do the best we can this weekend
26:54at a home race for the team to do that.
26:57Are you back driving with your old confidence and freedom behind the wheel?
27:02I think so. Honestly, I would say I never stopped doing that, to be honest.
27:07It's been a tricky year so far and there's been some really tough weekends.
27:11But personally, I've always felt comfortable driving the car
27:16and I feel, yeah, I feel that as much as I'm still learning, for sure.
27:21That's something that hasn't really hasn't really changed.
27:25So for this weekend, I've been fortunate to test her in the past.
27:30So but it is a it is a very intense track.
27:32It's very it's quite hard.
27:34It's very, as Kimi said, old school,
27:37which for us, I think as drivers, we're quite excited by that.
27:40All right. Good luck to you as well this weekend. Thank you.
27:42Let's now open this to the broadcasters.
27:44Who's going first?
27:47Mara, a question to Kimi.
27:50Kimi, you were just talking about victory and podium,
27:54but what are you missing as a team to win this year?
28:01Well, I don't feel like I'm in the position to just because
28:05I have so much to learn is still on my side.
28:09So I feel like, you know, as a team, we're doing a great job.
28:14You know, the car is it's been consistent every weekend.
28:18And and that allows us to to build the confidence.
28:22Of course, you know, the gap to McLaren is is still big.
28:25I mean, Miami, I think was the was the real picture of of the situation.
28:31You know, McLaren were flying during the race
28:34and it was impossible to catch for anyone else.
28:37So I think, you know, as a team, we're really trying to to work hard
28:40to to improve our limitation.
28:44Again, this weekend, we will have a few updates on the car
28:48and hopefully that will help us to to make a step forward
28:51and to keep to keep working.
28:53I mean, I've been at the factory as well in the past few days.
28:57And, you know, it's it's really exciting to see how much the team is motivated
29:02and how hard they're working.
29:04So, you know, we we're all aligned on where we need to improve.
29:08And that's what we're trying to do.
29:11Thank you, Craig.
29:12Craig Slater, Sky Sports. Another one for Kimi.
29:15Home race, obviously, I'm sure there's a lot of attention on you.
29:18Family and friends, no doubt, attending.
29:20How are you protecting your energy levels
29:23and keeping a clear head for the action on track?
29:26Yeah, I mean, that's that's a good question, actually.
29:28I mean, it's definitely this weekend is going to be emotionally
29:32and mentally draining.
29:34I mean, home race in front of the Italian fans.
29:37And, you know, as I said, my family, my friends will be attending.
29:40So it's going to be really important to manage the energy,
29:45especially in those moments where where I can and not trying to to waste,
29:51you know, energy in something that is not useful.
29:55So definitely, you know, it's going to be important to stay on top of that
29:59because it's really easy to to hit the bottom of the pack
30:03before the end of the weekend.
30:05And already a normal weekend is very tiring and and draining.
30:09So this is like double.
30:12So, of course, I'm going to try to to protect myself.
30:16I mean, I also you know, the fact that I got really good people around me
30:20really helps that.
30:22And we're all aligned that this weekend is going to be tough.
30:24So we were preparing and I think we're quite well prepared.
30:29And because at the end of the day, you know, it's another race weekend.
30:33But obviously because the circumstances is going to be different.
30:38But at the same time, it's going to be really exciting.
30:40I mean, I think it's, you know, the the energy is going to be amazing.
30:45And that can be also used to to do even better on track.
30:49But yeah, really looking forward to to see how we go on this weekend.
30:54Thanks, Kimi. Yeah, Harry.
30:56Harry Benjamin, Sky Sports F1.
30:58Question for Kimi.
30:58Obviously, with all of that dealing with a home race, too,
31:02I believe this is the first weekend that you've had a proper chance
31:05to read the note that Lewis Hamilton left for you last year in the driver's room.
31:09I know you don't want to go into the specifics of what it says,
31:11so I'm not going to ask you to.
31:12But what was the feeling reading the full thing?
31:15And how much does it mean to you that Lewis took the time
31:18to even leave you a message?
31:20Well, I mean, I think, you know,
31:22I'm afraid you guys cannot see, but I think it does a lot on,
31:25you know, how Lewis is as a person.
31:27You know, I think
31:30you can see a lot.
31:31I could see a lot of the human side of Lewis, not only the driver.
31:35And, you know, reading the message, it fulfilled my heart, you know,
31:40to to receive such a message from such a figure in the sport.
31:45You know, he has done so much and he's still, you know,
31:49still right there giving his best.
31:51And, you know, he's one of the best in history.
31:54And, you know, to receive such a message, of course, is it's amazing.
31:59And of course, it's also, you know, in the message,
32:02it contains also some advices.
32:05And, you know, it's it's also I use it as as a motivation as well
32:10to to go out there and and do my best,
32:14because, yeah, it doesn't happen every day.
32:17Will you keep the letter?
32:19Yeah, it's actually on my book, on the wall.
32:22I'll keep it there.
32:24And yeah, because I think the message is so nice that,
32:29you know, I just want to leave it there because every day I enter in the room,
32:33every time I enter the room, I can see the message.
32:36And it's obviously, you know, it's also a really good reminder.
32:40Thanks for that.
32:41Margot Laffitte, Canal Plus question for Kimi.
