Motorway Cops Catching Britain's Speeders S07E06 (12th May 2025)
Transcript
00:00It's not helping the tenant, it's very much, this.
00:07My head is banging, two in the morning, loud noises.
00:12Bad mix.
00:14In Gateshead, PCs Jamie Leslie and Jan Schimlescher
00:18are hunting for a chassis number on a suspected stolen car.
00:23Dear God.
00:24But it's refusing to come quietly.
00:26You've got your big talk. What have they wanted, Jan?
00:30What?
00:35You've got an exact match for a blackboard organ.
00:40From the checks on the chassis number,
00:42it's confirmed that it was stolen well over a year ago.
00:46Good result, but a lot of fun, loud noises.
00:49I like your peace and quiet.
00:54Bad drivers, beware.
00:57If the cops don't catch you,
00:58dashcam will.
01:01With 25,000 traffic convictions a year,
01:04down to your cameras,
01:06Britain's deadliest drivers
01:07have nowhere left to hide.
01:12There we go.
01:13And on the front line
01:17are our motorway cops.
01:21Are we going?
01:22Why, aye, of course we're going in.
01:24We join Northumbria police.
01:26You're not getting a selfie with us, no?
01:27I've just took your car off you.
01:29As they chase down dangerous drivers.
01:32Runner, mate, you're all bladded.
01:33You've had a drink, haven't you?
01:34I've had two.
01:35And get the worst offenders.
01:37Did they do what I've just done with Stu Kennedy?
01:39But I nearly got away.
01:41Nearly got away, but you didn't.
01:42Off our roads.
01:44Do you know how they're good?
01:46Yeah.
01:47Anything I do say may be given in evidence, Mr. Officer.
01:50Helping them in their battle
01:51with idiots behind the wheel
01:53is dash cam.
01:56Have you seen the dash cam footage?
01:58It's vital evidence
01:59and proof
02:01that Britain's dumbest drivers
02:04are a law unto themselves.
02:08Police 1, criminal 0.
02:10He's absolutely mortal.
02:23He's going to kill somebody.
02:25Tonight.
02:26You're absolutely hammered, you.
02:29I've got a drink.
02:29All you need to do is sit at the best test.
02:31A drink driver gets some sobering last orders.
02:35Well, I'm losing my license.
02:37No, I.
02:38Use other people who kill most people, man, on the roads.
02:40A boy racer lays down the law.
02:45Your car's going to get seized under Section 59
02:46of the police reform.
02:47No, it's not. You can't take it.
02:49Oh, OK, then.
02:50No, I didn't know.
02:51Thanks for letting me know.
02:54What's your full name?
02:56H.S.M.
02:58H.S.M.
02:59And a suspected van thief spells confusion.
03:04How are you?
03:04You must know your name.
03:06This is my new name.
03:10A former front line against invasions from afar,
03:18Northumbria's patch has a fine collection of castles.
03:23And today, a new battle for authority
03:25is raging in the halls of power at Eatle Lane Station.
03:29It's like being given the keys to King's Landing.
03:33Clark, he's been promoted in the absence of the inspector
03:35and the sergeant, so he's taking the reins.
03:38He's got command and control,
03:39and he's just fitting into them old slippers nicely.
03:43Pretender to the throne,
03:45acting sergeant Andy Clark,
03:47is facing dissent in the ranks
03:49from PC Mark Crammond.
03:52Don't lose your hair now.
03:53It's not grey enough yet.
03:54We need to cause a little bit of carnage,
03:56and that'll be full grey.
03:57Yeah.
03:58As they say, a penalty spot on the back.
04:00Yeah, you'll be the silver fox by the end of the shirt.
04:05I've got my glasses on.
04:16You can see.
04:27Keeping their eyes peeled for crime,
04:30Mark's come equipped for any eventuality.
04:33I've just got me kit bag
04:35in the bag.
04:35It's just got a bit of everything in it.
04:39I've got a little first aid kit.
04:40I've got some scissors,
04:42cable ties,
04:44got some cleaning cloths.
04:47I bought some double-sided tape yesterday, actually.
04:51As long as he's got a pen and paper,
04:52that's all that matters.
05:02Please, emergency.
05:03There's very loud cars racing on the north side of the Time River in Newburn.
05:09Right, look at somebody who's there, okay?
05:13Hello, you're the unit.
05:14We're going to float around Newburn Industrial Estates.
05:17We're getting calls about the car mates.
05:19We've got vehicles racing up and down now.
05:21There's been a number of reports from members of the public of a large group of car enthusiasts
05:37driving in an antisocial and dangerous manner.
05:40There'll be a small minority treating it as a racetrack when it's a public road.
05:44And they're the people who tend to make mistakes and end up killing somebody,
05:47so it's really important that we take positive action when dealing with them.
05:51We've been sighted straight away.
06:05Look at them all lined up, man.
06:08They obviously know it's a fuzz.
06:16Aye.
06:18Game over.
06:22949, we're down Newburn now.
06:24It is busy.
06:25Skid marks all over the road.
06:26You're seeing them on the road behind.
06:27That one's got no front-edge place.
06:32Who's there, that one?
06:38Oh!
06:49So we've got to the bottom of the road and we've heard some sort of high revs.
06:53As we've turned round, we've seen that car just accelerate very harshly at speed up the road,
07:00basically driving in an antisocial manner.
07:02Is he double background?
07:03I can't even see him in the distance.
07:05With all these tracks.
07:09There he is, eh?
07:14Well, I'm in.
07:15What do you mean, yeah?
07:26Mate, you're driving like an idiot on this road.
07:27How?
07:28How?
07:28I've literally just pulled out, yeah?
07:30Went round and round about.
07:32Are we on the wrong side of the road?
07:35Why?
07:35Because I've just literally pulled in quickly to see if he wants to plug home.
07:39OK.
07:40You're not cutting the mustard with me.
07:41Get out the car, bro, son.
07:42Get out the car.
07:42Come and have a seat in the back of our car.
07:45Is it your vehicle?
07:47Yes, it is my vehicle.
07:48You've got your licence with you.
07:50Nope.
07:51This side.
07:51Other side.
07:54Stop swearing, because that's your first warning.
07:58Mate, you're driving like an absolute lunatic.
07:59Look at all the tread marks on the road.
08:02Look at that car.
08:03Don't go, don't go, don't go at me.
08:05Don't swear at me.
08:06Whoa, whoa, whoa.
08:07Mate, I've got anger problems, Devon.
08:08Don't start shouting and swearing at me and trying to walk away one past it.
08:11Sit in the car.
08:15I once was a driver who sped.
08:28Who stupidly ran through a red.
08:31Hello?
08:34Swerved over the lane.
08:35drove road users insane

11:19you're aware of it because you've just told us about it
11:22I am aware I've got it yeah

12:42that's fine
12:42that's a reason why you probably didn't get your first one
12:48unfortunately there's 192 pounds
12:51you couldn't be all sitting dude
12:53aye
12:53his attitude steams
12:59he's just really immature
13:14he's got no regard for anybody else

14:04with cop car tech at his fingertips
14:06we've got ampr stacks
14:10we've got speed monitors
14:12radios
14:13sat navs
14:14but for some reason
14:15but for some reason
14:15we still rely
14:17on the good old trusted
14:201960s
14:22telephone handset
14:24I remember watching Heartbeat as a kid
14:27and thinking like they had these
14:28or they would have to pull up
14:29out of one of the police boxes
14:31wouldn't they
14:32and ring for one of the colleagues
14:34to come out
14:35I don't know what they did
14:36back in the day
14:36when they had the car
14:37making off from them
14:38it's a right, right, right
14:39but we'll leave that there
14:42at the end of the day
14:42I think
14:43as jamie takes to his beat
14:51another old school tool
14:53is letting him down
14:54yeah, I must have a bit of cold
14:57or something
14:57because my cop has nose
14:58is off a little bit
14:59we're having a bit of a dry spell
15:02at the moment
15:02some cars that you look at
15:04are general dead ringers
15:06for having no insurance
15:07or document offences
15:08but there's a lot of
15:11legit people out there
15:13it's frustrating
15:14it's still early in the day
15:19it's just got to be
15:20the right place
15:21at the right time
15:22just driving home from work
15:32and being stopped by a guy
15:34in the middle of a roundabout
15:35he's absolutely mortal
15:37he's driving
15:38yeah, he's going to kill somebody
15:40come by for a possible drink driver
15:46please stop
15:47speak at the caller
15:48see if I can talk to you
15:50one thing is going on the wrong side
15:52of the road as well
15:53Tango 1050
15:56have put me down for that one
15:57so remember the public's rang in
16:01seeing that they've saved a potential drink driver
16:04so we'll just meet my way to the area now
16:06see if we can pick him up
16:07oh no, we'll get this one stop
16:12he's had a skin full
16:13it's very concerning to me
16:14Jamie needs to act fast
16:22drink drivers cause around 300 deaths a year on Britain's roads
16:27nottinghamshire police are chasing a drink driver with his foot down
16:35at 80 miles per hour in a 40 zone
16:40he rockets through Nottingham
16:42on the wrong side of the road
16:44after running a red light
16:47cops surround the car
16:50but the boozed-up racer
16:52takes off
16:53he hurtles through a roundabout
16:57and careers into a cul-de-sac
17:00where his dangerous driving
17:04meets a dead end
17:06at twice the drink drive limit
17:09the man was found guilty of drink driving
17:12and dangerous driving
17:13he was sentenced to one year in jail
17:16and banned from driving
17:18for three and a half years
17:20he was absolutely mortal
17:28he's driving
17:29now he's going to kill somebody
17:31back in Newcastle
17:34Jamie and another patrol
17:36are racing to catch a suspected drink driver
17:39it's important that we get this one stop
17:41he's had a skin full
17:42it's very concerning to me
17:44I just hit the time bridge
17:46got eyes on this vehicle now
17:49he'll catch up a little bit
17:51the end of the vehicle is going to put in his own now
17:57you're in 26th and a 40th
18:01within a minute or two
18:05aye, he's a bit worse for wear him
18:14isn't he?
18:19well that's actually really hurt us mate
18:22left what?
18:22is it because of your watch?
18:23I can't point to it because obviously it's the way it is
18:27sorry, sorry mate
18:29above where me thumb is now
18:30aye, but you're bending your arm
18:31if you keep it straight like that
18:32that's your watch really
18:33so where do I need to keep it then?
18:34just like that
18:35I'll take your watch off me and put it in your pocket
18:37you're absolutely hammered you
18:39I've only had four drinks
18:40are you?
18:41do you stink a drink man?
18:43I've got a drink
18:44all you need to do is take a breath test
18:46yes take a seat
18:47I've got a license
18:48I've got insurance
18:49I've been sitting there for us
18:50you've got a dime license on you?
18:52I haven't, no
18:53just take a seat there and watch yourself as you're stepping in
18:56come first
18:57he looks it up
19:03he's only had four drinks he reckons
19:05oh right
19:06but he stinks a drink
19:07this will be a canny blow
19:08I think this will probably be
19:09this will be about a hundred I reckon
19:11you reckon
19:18what do you do?
19:19104
19:20104
19:23can't be getting behind the car like that
19:25I apologise but
19:27I'm always honest
19:28and like I said
19:29the problem is
19:30just being honest
19:31but all it takes is
19:32for you to hit somebody
19:33and kill them
19:34and you're going to jail
19:35for a long time
19:36are you anything in your pockets
19:37you shouldn't have?
19:38theft
19:39no you can keep that man
19:41you can keep that money
19:43why I don't want to keep the money
19:45I just thought
19:47we're keeping any of your property
19:48we're just going to check
19:49what's in your pockets
19:50etc
19:51in case anything
19:52that shouldn't be
19:53even though I'm in Sherwood
19:57and got my licence
19:58what happens when you call them?
20:00we're parking up somewhere
20:02and
20:03but you'll not have your licence
20:04much longer
20:07but I'm losing my licence
20:09why?
20:10we can't just go like
20:11hard to drink driving
20:12yous are the people
20:14who kill most people
20:15man on the roads
20:16you're in that category now mate
20:18we know mate
20:39when I got right here in the vehicle
20:40obviously he's driving
20:41he's stuck standard
20:42moving across the road
20:44obviously when I pulled him over
20:46he's stopped
20:47and then straight away
20:48he's said that he has
20:49like four alcoholic drinks
20:50he's blown a hundred and four
20:53on the roadside breath test
20:57which is just ridiculous
20:59the legal limit's 35
21:01you can't emphasise how dangerous it is
21:04the amount of theatres we go to
21:07which are linked with
21:22drinking, drug, driving
21:24it's unbelievable
21:26I think we've probably prevented something
21:27by getting behind him
21:37I can't deal with a car
21:42that's got different tyres
21:43on each wheel
21:44no
21:45you've got different tyres
21:46on each wheel
21:47I've got
21:48uniroyals on the front
21:50and
21:51Goodyear's on the back
21:53it's like going out in the street
21:54with one like
21:55Adidas trainer
21:56and one Nike trainer
21:57well you're saying that
21:58but that's if you put trainers on your hands
21:59because you would need four
22:00ensuring
22:03they tread carefully
22:04in Newcastle
22:05I feel like I'm going to get a puncher
22:07on the way home now
22:08Andy and Mark
22:09are keeping tabs
22:10on unauthorised car meets
22:12keep an eye out for the next hour
22:14so if it comes back north
22:16it will spoil the fun again
22:28yeah if that's the case
22:29we will head over
22:35there's a chance to use my Ninos
22:40they've all migrated over to Washington
22:42and the calls have come in again
22:44saying it's carnage
22:53my neck of the woods
22:57here they are
22:58there they are
23:10they haven't even got a barbecue with these
23:16tiny plate there
23:17there's a tiny plate again
23:20so we'll sit around
23:21and be able to witness
23:22some issues
23:23and we'll stop and deal with them
23:24can I be doing that?
23:31ho ho ho ho ho
23:45fancy a real life game of Mario Kart
23:46then try driving on Britain's roads
23:49roads
23:55where road rage
23:56turns us into street fighters
24:01and city centre parking
24:02is tougher than Tetris
24:09but if player one gets it wrong
24:11it's game over
24:12it's game over
24:23can I be doing that?
24:24ho ho ho ho
24:27at an unauthorised car meet in Gateshead
24:30Andy and Mark
24:31are after a white van
24:32burning rubber
24:33on a roundabout
24:35do you think he noticed us?
24:36I don't know if the van did
24:37I don't know if the van did
24:43is he going back round?
24:44is he recent?
24:45no he's come on
24:50strange going to a car meet in a van
24:5560 through the 50
25:00scamming the angel
25:01to be fair I'm happy to take it
25:08bye
25:18hello
25:19do you want to come and have a seat in my car
25:20I want to show you something
25:24have you got your licence with you?
25:25yeah
25:26ok
25:27let's come and have a seat
25:29where are you heading to?
25:30er
25:31just on the corner
25:37right
25:38this is video
25:39somebody decides to want to come
25:40drifting round the roundabout
25:41leaving their tyre tracks
25:43is there any reason why you were driving in that manner?
25:46no
25:47it was just daft
25:48daft
25:49what do you think that looks like?
25:50it doesn't look great
25:55on top of that as well
25:56right
25:57why were you driving at 60mph in the 50s on the start of the A1
26:00in the roadworks
26:02was that doing 60?
26:03yeah
26:04the only time you slowed down was when you saw the average speed camera
26:08is that not the start of the 50?
26:09no the 50 start is where it has a big sign that says 50
26:12I've then just seen you at a car meet which is an anti-social meet
26:15so you've kind of got three things there
26:18if we see somebody doing one we give them a yellow card
26:20it's called a section 59 warning
26:22if you get two of those
26:23okay the van gets seized
26:25do you think it would be unfair if we seized that vehicle from you?
26:28probably not now
26:36clearly you see you're a little bit shaken and quiet
26:39but what's amazing is that people can be shaken and quiet as soon as they drive off the air
26:42they're like oh whatever and do what they want
26:45I think I was just in a daft mood
26:47I know but mate what happens in six weeks time if you're in a daft mood
26:51I'm not going to go to any more car
26:52I mean to be fair that one
26:53I'm not going to go
26:54as we pulled up I would have been hellbent that van's come with us and it's not been driven any further
27:04but having sported you you seem like quite reasonable and sensible and
27:08but then I've got the devil on my shoulder seeing what happens if he drives off you and clatters someone
27:11yeah
27:15I've never actually done this before ever if you're on my shoes
27:18would you give yourself another opportunity to drive off?
27:21or would you seize the vehicle and make one of your folks come and collect you?
27:25I think I'd give us another chance
27:31you've seen there how many people are lying on the streets
27:35you lose control of your car and you've just killed somebody
27:38when you've been to multiple fatal collisions like we have
27:41seen the dead bodies and then gone and delivered the message to the family
27:45it's not pleasant
27:46we have to live with the stuff that we deliver and see you know
27:50and we want to prevent that
27:53so
27:55today
27:57I think you're going to be lucky
28:00you are going to be issued a warning under section 59 of the police reform act okay
28:04if you drive in that manner
28:06in any antisocial or careless manner in any vehicle
28:09and I'll be seized
28:11just cut it out
28:12how old are you?
28:1320
28:14you need to mature and grow
28:16okay
28:17you want to hop out?
28:18apologies for
28:19I'm sure that he's had the shock of his life
28:23and he's acknowledged his wrongdoings
28:26so he's been given a warning rather than his vehicle seized
28:30he's now on our radar
28:32he's now on our radar
28:33I'm sure that he's now on our radar
28:34I'm sure that he's had the shock of his life
28:36I'm sure that he's had the shock of his life
28:39and he's acknowledged his wrongdoings
28:42so he's been given a warning rather than his vehicle seized
28:46he's now on our radar
28:47even in a six foot
29:02even in a six foot
29:03that's still struggling
29:05and it's just a case of power on and then it
29:10testing it
29:15and I have had to use it once
29:17100% accuracy so far
29:19so we'll see how that goes
29:22we'll go and use it tonight and completely miss
29:24at Follingsby Nick PC Tommy Wade is all charged up for another 12 hour shift on the roads of Sunderland
29:44Tommy's been picking off the bad guys for 17 years
29:48but it won't just be criminals getting under his skin today
29:53I can feel the spot warming
29:55it's one of them ones I just
29:57you can't see it but it irritates the life out of you
29:59but there's nothing you can do about it
30:01it's a fair thing killing
30:03thankfully I don't get many spots but when I do
30:10then you look like you're picking your nose with other people
30:18so we've got a
30:30possible just all drivers just hit the car
30:45there it is
30:48we would you mind just running one through that's at the car for a possible disc walled driver
30:531978 yeah it looks like a potentially disc walled driver
30:56showing no insurance in the minute
31:04if there's something the police know about a car
31:07it'll activate for it
31:09you're only human you're never going to spot everything that's going on
31:12so that little bit of help is massive
31:14if it is a disc walled driver I want them off the road
31:20driving while disqualified can land you in jail
31:24but reckless drivers will take that chance behind the wheel
31:29a disqualified driver in a stolen car is on a collision course through the streets of Bolton
31:40racing the wrong way at a junction
31:43as he makes off from greater Manchester police
31:46hitting speeds in excess of 70 miles an hour
31:53he terrorizes traffic on the high street
31:54from above the police chopper keeps patrols on the ground in the chase
32:05cornered the suspect flees on foot to a nearby house
32:10where cops catch him naked in the bath
32:16he was found guilty of dangerous driving driving while disqualified and handling stolen goods
32:23he was sentenced to 18 months in prison
32:25if it is a disqualified driver I want him off the road
32:30on the A1 near Washington
32:33Tommy's tailing a suspected band driver
32:38some park conveys coming up
32:41let's see what he's got to say

33:49and
33:50the insurance and all I had and then I put it up for sale
33:54I appreciate that you've got reasons for it
33:56it doesn't change the fact you're being banned
33:58because you're disqualified and there's no insurance
34:00we've got to seize the vehicle
34:06happens if I just leave the vehicle?
34:07no as far as I'm aware they just
34:09they'll either sell or crush it
34:11don't know how much it is
34:12it's £200 maybe for a collection
34:14but
34:15suppose if you're going to sell it then you'll make more
34:19anyway I can guess my partner at home
34:21like
34:22I can see if my mate's nearby

35:07What do you mind?
35:09Oh, hello, mate.
35:11Hello, mate.
35:13Right, this fine chap's gonna get you home.
35:15Spot on.
35:17So, the car gets uplifted, taken to the impound.
35:21The court will then decide what punishment he's gonna get.
35:27Good little win.
35:37I was trying to see who's moving it to the register to keep us a dress.
35:41I'm not sure if you're selling a car, that would make much difference,
35:43but now it's gonna be massively out of pocket as a result of us uplifting it.
35:50You should have sold it without driving it.
36:01Occasionally, when the radio goes quiet and there's not much on the road,
36:06it's sometimes important to put a bit of music on.
36:11Two hours into the shift,
36:13and Jamie's already got his first confession.
36:18I really enjoy listening to The Greatest Showman.
36:21More embarrassing than that,
36:23I really like Cats, the musical.
36:26But I haven't quite found the courage to play that at work yet.
36:30Magical Mr Mistoffelees.
36:32I do an amazing rendition of it,
36:35but I'm not prepared to go global with that just yet.
36:39The
36:47The
36:52Star Wars
36:53The side is just stolen white transit band.
36:54It's time gone here to 186.
36:57Tango 1050. Yeah, I'm traveling.
37:01I'm not travelling.
37:05Stalling more of the angle which is stalling yesterday.
37:09It's just been saved by cameras.
37:14Yeah, I'm behind that. Stalling comes out.
37:16Here's the one, opposite.
37:19With another patrol on the van's tail,
37:22Jamie races with backup.
37:25It's not in pursuit just yet, but probably will eventually.
37:32Awful driving conditions.
37:34Gotta be on your ear game sometimes with ease.
37:40Appears to be pulling over.
37:48Just jump out for us, mate.
37:50You're under arrest on suspicion of theft of motor vehicle.
37:57Yes, I'm on scene.
38:01The puzzle of bad driving can leave us scratching our heads.
38:16There's no need to be cryptic
38:19You f***
38:21When choosing a cross word.
38:25Can you spot the difference?
38:27Move out, move out, move out, move out.
38:31Between an open road and a blocked one.
38:34That was real life hazard perception.
38:37And joining the dots isn't always a pretty picture.
38:40Yeah, I'm behind that.
38:51The stone can't go.
38:53Here's the one occupant.
38:56In West Newcastle,
38:58Jamie's backing up another officer
39:00who has a suspected van thief in cuffs.
39:02You're under arrest on suspicion of theft of motor vehicle.
39:06Jump in the back of the car for now.
39:13Harry?
39:15Good spot, mate.
39:17He looks a bit surprised.
39:18Did he?
39:19I wonder what the crap is.
39:20My tools is lost from this van.
39:23Yesterday I gave the police report.
39:26You did?
39:27Yeah.
39:29Where's the phone call to the police?
39:31No, no, no, no.
39:32Police, he rang me.
39:34Because I go to, you know, the station,
39:37I gave the report.
39:39Alright.
39:43Tango 1058, what was the circumstances of the theft?
39:46Yeah, I received.
39:47We're just trying to get to the bottom of it now.
39:50So it's taken another van,
39:51but it's taken tools out of this one?
39:52Yeah, from this one.
39:54What's the registration of the other van?
39:56The registration is here.
39:58So that's stolen?
40:00Yeah.
40:01You haven't got it back yet?
40:03Yeah.
40:05You haven't got it back yet?
40:07Yeah.
40:09You haven't got it back yet?
40:11Yeah.
40:13You haven't got it back yet?
40:14You haven't got it back yet.
40:18So this chap owns two vans.
40:21He's essentially reported,
40:23one of them getting broken into
40:24and two is getting stolen out of them.
40:26And then the other one being stolen.
40:30The report sounds a little bit cagey, to be fair.
40:33And I'm a little bit hesitant
40:35whether the truth kind of lies somewhere in between.
40:38You've got a driver's licence?
40:42I'm honest, home.
40:44Where do you live?
40:45House.
40:48Hello.
40:52Are you insured on that?
40:54Yeah, yeah.
40:55In your own name?
40:56Yeah.
40:58What's your full name?
41:01My English is no good, but...
41:03Well, can you not just tell us,
41:04because you're speaking all right?
41:06Uh...
41:07H-S.
41:08H-S.
41:10M.
41:11H-S. M.
41:13Yeah.
41:15A.
41:17Wow, you must know your name.
41:19Right.
41:20Was that you?
41:22That's your name?
41:24This is my new name.
41:27What do you mean, new name?
41:29Listen, right.
41:30Right.
41:31You're going to get locked up?
41:32Yeah.
41:33What's your proper details?
41:34You've got two different names going on, yeah?
41:41Well, you're speaking perfectly good English to me.
41:47Well, you understood what I said there, didn't you?
41:52Do you know the lad whose van this is?
41:55He's working in my house.
41:56Ah, right, aye.
41:57What's he called?
41:58His name is Hamid, and his brother's name is Hasman.
42:04Ah, right.
42:05That makes perfect sense.
42:10You gave your brother's name to them officers, did you?
42:13I'm a small man.
42:14Yeah.
42:15That's not your name?
42:16That's your brother's name?
42:17Aye.
42:18Because you're trying to deceive us?
42:19Of course.
42:20No.
42:21You're trying to deceive the police?
42:22No.
42:23You're trying to deceive the police?
42:24In fact, this vehicle from the 30th of June
42:26tends to use his brother's ID when he's stopped by often
42:30and does not have a valid driving licence.
42:33He's known to drive dangerously around Newcastle.
42:35Yes, yes.
42:36That's all received.
42:37Right.
42:38You haven't got a driving licence?
42:39No.
42:40You?
42:41You've lied.
42:42You've tried to be deceitful.
42:43That's exactly why you've done it.
42:45Because we know that you try to provide all the time your brother's driving licence.
42:49With a policeman.
42:50We're clever.
42:51Your van is getting seized.
42:56Right.
42:57Right.
42:58Not today, then.
42:59Not with you.
43:00You can take the tools out.
43:01You're going to get a canny fine and you're going to have to pay for that to get recovered.
43:04It's going to be expensive for you.
43:05There's your mobile phone back.
43:06Next time, don't lie to the police.
43:07We thought this was the stolen van.
43:08That's why you've been stopped initially.
43:09Then, when we've got here, you've lied to it.
43:10How am I supposed to believe that the report about your other stolen van is true?
43:35It's a bit of a strange one, that really.
43:57His major downfall was the place where he's supposed to be doing work on.
44:01And the guys came out and said, oh, yes, his brother has such and such, which was the details that he initially gave her.
44:06So, obviously, he tried to pull the wool over her eyes a bit there by providing false details.
44:11And he'd have to get up pretty early in the morning to get away with that.
44:21If you have any dashcam clips you think could feature in the next series of Motorway Cops,
44:26Catching Britain's Speeders, send them along with your contact details to contact us at purpleproductions.co.uk.
44:35See you next time.
44:36See you next time.
44:37Bye.
44:38Bye.
44:39Bye.
44:40Bye.
44:41Bye.
44:42Bye.
44:43Bye.
44:44Bye.
45:05Bye.

40:00: Cop: "Where do you live?" Alleged car/tool thief: "House." No papers on him. Convenient answers. No vowels in his "new" name that he has to think about before spelling. Claiming he doesn't understand English, but, speaks it well enough. Gives his brother's details instead of his own. No license. Dangerous driver . . . I can't believe he wasn't taken to the nick for obstruction, alone. Given the state of his tools, I wouldn't hire him.

33:00: OMG! The disqualified (drink drive) prat was playing with his phone just as the cop reached him! Add that to the list of offences! 35:00: And the wife (passenger) knew about it! =smh=
  • skaizun3 months ago
23:15: Another cop-bait? 27:40: Maybe seeing people killed in anti-social/drink/drug accidents in a mortuary or severely maimed in a hospital would shake up boy racers, et al.
  • skaizun3 months ago
6:35: One wonders whether the speeding car was cop-bait, so the others could get away. Smart alec starts denying, then, oddly, agrees with speeding, then, denying some more, then starts swearing at the cops, then claims he has "anger problems" (shouldn't be on the road, then, should he?), clearly showing off for his mates. No ID. Then demands that the cop "ask nicely," then entraps himself with a previous anti-social warning. I'd disown the prat brat before he does something more serious.
