00:00Good morning, happy Tuesday, here is your market open update. Futures for Canada's
00:08main stock index dipped on Tuesday as hype cooled after yesterday's US-China rally and
00:12investors focused back on upcoming inflation data. The TSX futures tipped down 0.4% as of 6am
00:18ET, the venture also on the decline. Futures at the Dow are down 261 points and the Nasdaq
00:23hands back 23 points. Peeking at some headlines, Alberta Premier Danielle Smith says her government
00:28is freezing its industrial carbon price effective immediately at $95 per tonne of emissions.
00:34And Canadian travel to the US dipped again in April as tensions flared over tariffs and
00:38annexation threats from the White House. Popping over to currency futures where the
00:42looney still sits at 71 cents US, down slightly against the Euro and Bitcoin lays down close
00:47to 500 points. And walking through commodity futures with copper on the rise, gold also
00:52inching upward, WTI skips up to $65 US a barrel and natural gas picks up over a quarter percent.
00:58That's your market open. I'm Lindsay Melchuk. Have a great day.
