Zuckerberg Foresees Tech Industry Revolution With AI: 'An AI That Can Effectively Be a Sort of Midlevel Engineer'

Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg said startups should leverage artificial intelligence to boost product quality and streamline development, calling AI a powerful tool for small, focused teams. Speaking at the Stripe Sessions conference, he predicted that by 2025, Meta and its peers will have AI capable of performing as a midlevel software engineer. While highlighting AI’s ability to help small teams compete at scale, he also warned of potential risks like missed security flaws without human code review. Cambridge AI researcher Harry Law warned that over-reliance on AI could impair developers’ understanding of architecture and debugging.
