00:00After the losses of many of my friends now, I'm raising awareness for men's mental health.
00:05So I have set up a fundraising day on the 31st of May for Trudor Rosen-Upner,
00:11where I've got loads of people from around.
00:15So people from Sittingbourne, Maidstone, we've got TMS at Maidstone,
00:19we've got Kai the Cake Lady, Tristan Ingram, Molly Collins,
00:23everyone that's grown up around the area.
00:26They've all put in to make sure that we can raise enough money as possible.
00:31And obviously, after losing three friends already to suicide, it's something that needs to happen.
00:37We need to change something.
00:39And, you know, we should say we're very sorry for your losses as well.
00:45Obviously, it is really impactful on the family members and those around them.
00:50I was wondering if you could take a moment to just tell us a little bit about your friends
00:53and remind us of what they were like.
00:56So, that's breathing.
01:01So, it's hard because they've all come from different aspects of my life.
01:06Like, Liam was really young, really bubbly, really fun.
01:09And you wouldn't ever think that that would happen to him.
01:12And then you've got, Kev, he's a doorman, he's big and strong,
01:16and you never thought that he'd just, do you know what I mean?
01:19And that's it, he couldn't take any more.
01:21And the same as Jamie.
01:22Jamie was a massive part of my life, his childhood friend.
01:24And growing up, we sort of all become a little bit more distant.
01:28But it doesn't change anything.
01:30It's taken such a massive part of my life away.
01:33And it's like, we need to change it.
01:35I'm 31.
01:36I've got a 13-year-old child.
01:39If we don't change something now, they were all different ages.
01:42How are we going to stop anything now?
01:45Why do you think it's so particularly difficult for men to seek help?
01:50Is that a societal thing?
01:52Or is that a lack of support at the sort of medical, professional side of things?
01:56Or is it just a combination of many issues?
01:58I think there's many things.
02:03Because females, I've said it before, will have a wine and will talk and will get it out.
02:08Whereas men don't.
02:09They worry about, they've got to go home to their families and they've got to get enough money in.
02:13And there's so much stress there with men than there is women.
02:16You think one in one, no, three in four men die from suicide.
02:23So you've got four people and three of them already committed suicide.
02:28Like, it's just not fair.
02:30There's not enough help.
02:31There's not enough help at all.
02:33Men talking sitting born, they started in their garden in their shed.
02:35And that's why they're one of my chosen charities.
02:39Because if we can give something to them to make it bigger, to get that word out, we're going to.
02:44And since I've started talking about this online, they've come forward and they've spoke to, additionally, over 10 of my friends already.
02:52There is people that have reached out to me on TikTok.
02:55I'm sorry, I'm having a little cry now.
02:56No, bless your heart.
02:57There's people that have reached out to me on TikTok.
03:00And they've even said, like, people I don't even know.
03:03And they're like, let's share it more, let's share it more.
03:05And why should it just be for a week?
03:07Is it only a week in that year?
03:08Sorry.
03:09A year that men are going, okay, cool, I can't take it anymore.
03:12It's not.
03:13It's ongoing.
03:14Why are we not putting more, not just in Medway, and not just in Kent all over?
03:19We need to do something.
03:20And I'm not going to lie.
03:22I'm going to do as much as I can, but I can't do it on my own.
03:24I'm going to lie.
03:31I'm going to lie.
