South Korea's People Power Party has chosen former Labor Minister Kim Moon-soo as its candidate for president in next month's election. A last-minute campaign by former acting President Han Duck-soo for the spot had threatened to split the party.

00:06just hours after cancelling his nomination, as internal tensions grow ahead of the June 3rd election.

00:14The reversal came after party members failed to rally around a replacement,

00:18former Prime Minister and Acting President Han Duk-soo.

00:22The party faces a tough fight against the opposition Democratic Party,

00:26while still reeling from the fallout of former President Yoon Suk-yeol's removal.

00:31Yoon was removed from office after declaring martial law in December.
