At least 21 people were killed and more than 30 others injured when a passenger bus plunged off a cliff in Kotmale, central Sri Lanka, on Sunday (May 11).

00:21The vehicle overturned at the base of the cliff, prompting nearby residents to rush
00:25to the scene and assist in rescuing the injured.
00:28Deputy Transport Minister Prasanna Gunasena said the death toll could have been even
00:33higher if not for the quick response of local villagers.
00:37The injured have been taken to nearby hospitals for treatment.
