00:00On this episode of Life in the Sable.
00:03So let the games begin.
00:06I'm coming to New York for Fashion Week.
00:10You want to get into Macy's?
00:11It's only three nights away.
00:13Don't have two people showing up, Priscilla.
00:14I'll be embarrassed.
00:15Have you ever walked into an interview?
00:16You're about to make me do it now.
00:18I'm not.
00:18Don't set me up to fail.
00:20I just don't want to disappoint the kids.
00:22I feel like they'll be heartbroken.
00:23You're not a fashion show?
00:25What do you think people are going to say?
00:26I don't want to go.
00:27I got to move on.
00:28We're not 18 forever.
00:33Baby fat is out of my life.
00:35It's done.
00:40I'm Camorley Simmons, and this is my life in the fat lane.
00:54I'm in New York to pick up Ming and Aoki from Russell.
00:56And I stop into his office to say hello.
00:59Are you listening to me?
01:00I hear everything you say.
01:01Do I not listen to you ever?
01:02All I'm saying is, you had the kids for two weeks.
01:04They had a great time in the Hamptons, and nobody meditated.
01:08I meditated twice a day.
01:09You make them meditate.
01:10We meditate every day during school, every day in the morning, every day at night.
01:14When they come to you, they don't meditate.
01:16So when they come home, you undo things that I do.
01:19For some reason, our conversations always involve a debate on how to raise our children.
01:24Russell is more like the good time parent, Mr. Daddy good time.
01:29They're asking me, why do we have to meditate when we don't meditate with Dad?
01:32They're very well behaved, but there's no additional authority that I have over them, except love.
01:38When they're with Daddy, it's like kind of downtime.
01:40I want to go to counseling.
01:42Oh, wait.
01:43We're divorced.
01:45Do they have divorced couples therapy?
01:48I just don't like to be too heavy on them.
01:51Well, as we're growing a little older, I'm the mother, you are the father.
01:54I mean, you have to reinforce the discipline.
01:57So here's something else.
01:58Ming wants a phone.
02:00Since you've been telling her forever you're going to get her a Blackberry.
02:02Every other kid's got a phone.
02:03All other kids have phones.
02:04Other kids on their phones are surfing the web.
02:07They're learning things that they should not learn.
02:09Trust that.
02:09You're training them well.
02:10But do you think a 10-year-old should have a phone?
02:12All the other 10-year-olds have phones.
02:13So if all the other kids jump off the bridge, you want yours to go too?
02:16No, no, no, no.
02:17My mom always said that you walked right into it.
02:19Russell's a pushover.
02:20He overcompensates with the children, and so he gives in to their every whim.
02:24He thinks it's okay that Ming has a cell phone.
02:26I think not.
02:28She's 10.
02:29Okay?
02:29Middle of the day.
02:30What else?
02:30Okay.
02:31Baby fat.
02:32Another reason I came to see Russell is to discuss my future with baby fat.
02:39Oh, I'll tell you about that.
02:41We sold the company seven years ago.
02:42I know, but I...
02:43Why do you keep talking to me about it?
02:44Because now I think it's come to a crucial point.
02:47I think it's over.
02:48I told you that.
02:48How long have I been telling you that?
02:49We built this from the ground up.
02:51I have carried this in my heart.
02:52That's a lot of stuff.
02:53I let it go.
02:53You have to let it go.
02:54Seven years ago, Russell and I sold baby fat in fat fashions.
02:58I stayed on as president and creative director, but now things are changing.
03:03People who grew up in the era that we created these brands, they need new inspiration.
03:07And you already are their inspiration, but your clothes are younger than you.
03:12I want to make a statement.
03:14I want you to try to digest this.
03:15Okay.
03:15The only thing constant is change.
03:17And for you, it's an exciting new phase.
03:20One thing that's important, I think you need to stay busy.
03:22Kamara.
03:22Yes.
03:23Focus your energy on Hello Kitty.
03:24Focus your energy on all of your new brands.
03:26Create new licenses for KLS.
03:28Baby fat is like my arm, my leg.
03:30It's a new exciting chapter.
03:32What do you think people are going to say?
03:33You think they're going to think I abandoned my brand?
03:35No.
03:35You know what you say?
03:36Say, you know what?
03:36I've grown up.
03:37I want to do something that's more inspiring.
03:38I want an honest expression of my talent.
03:40You have things that are honest from your heart that sometimes you can't put in your baby
03:44fat design.
03:45Do what's in your heart.
03:46You'll have more fun.
03:47I hate to say it, but I think Russell's right.
03:51Did I just say that?
03:54Fashion Week, do you want to go to a show?
03:57Fashion Week is rapidly approaching.
03:59However, the thought of going at it without a show of my own is a little hard to wrap my
04:03head around.
04:04We'll see.
04:05All right, I'm going to yoga.
04:06You want to come?
04:07No, the girls are waiting for me.
04:08Then go to class.
04:10Hallelujah.
04:12Be happy.
04:12I flew back to L.A. and a little pick-me-up is in order.
04:21So, today, Kenzo, Sandra, Christopher, and I are at Orange Bone to buy doggy treats.
04:28But really, it's to get my puppy treats.
04:31Oh, what's that?
04:34Can you say dog?
04:35Say hi.
04:36Hi.
04:37See, the reason we like coming here is because all of these dogs are rescues.
04:44Where are they rescuing them from?
04:46Well, mostly in shelters, and then we also take private donations as well.
04:50Hi.
04:51Come here, puppy.
04:52Oh, my God.
04:53That one's crazy.
04:54Come here, you crazy.
04:55Go get the crazy one.
04:56Bring that dog over here.
04:58Oh, here.
04:59Toot-toot.
05:00Toot-toot.
05:01You rescue dogs are frisky.
05:03Grab her while you can.
05:04Come here, come here, come here, come here.
05:07All right, stay.
05:08Don't go anywhere.
05:10Good girl.
05:11Come on, come on.
05:12Go, go.
05:13Ah!
05:14You're on my head!
05:16Oh, look, Kenzo, look.
05:18Kenzo, look.
05:20Kenzo, tell Baba we want a dog.
05:23Yeah, good girl.
05:25Good doggy.
05:28Hi.
05:29Say hi, doggy.
05:31We like you.
05:32We want to rescue you.
05:33You are so cute.
05:38Hello?
05:39Then I get a call that I knew was coming.
05:43Really?
05:48Okay, it's done?
05:51Okay, I don't know whether to laugh or cry,
05:53but it's definitely something there.
05:57Okay, thank you.
05:59Bye.
05:59It's over.
06:05I have spent 15 years building Baby Fat, almost half my life.
06:10And now, it's over.
06:13That was the call.
06:15Is that a good thing?
06:16Yeah, it's a good thing.
06:17Because we've been here from the beginning.
06:20We built our little baby.
06:22And we have to pass her on to the hands that be.
06:25Or we have to be with the big girls now.
06:26KLS, here we come.
06:30I need a tissue.
06:31Oh, how about that tissue?
06:34We'll take a wee-wee pad at this point.
06:42Okay.
06:44We built this company, and we'll make another baby.
06:47And we have to grow up.
06:48And we have to start with a whole new thing.
06:50I got to move on.
06:51We're not 18 forever.
06:53It's just a little hard to change.
06:55It's probably the best thing.
06:56Baby Fat is out of my life.
07:01I'm moving on.
07:03It's done.
07:11After everything that went down, the person I needed the most was my BFF, Shanee.
07:17And without hesitation, she was on the first flight out to L.A.
07:21I'm glad you're here.
07:22I'm glad I'm here, too.
07:23It's a lot.
07:24How are you feeling about everything?
07:26I mean, this is something that's so personal to me, you know, that I feel, like, a little
07:29personally touched by this.
07:32Yeah.
07:32I'm personally invested in this.
07:34We created the loco off of Max the cat, my cat that I've had since I was eight.
07:38You had him when I knew you.
07:40Absolutely.
07:40When we first met.
07:41I feel it all the way in Jersey.
07:43I feel it.
07:45We just have to move on.
07:47I don't want people to look at it the wrong way and think in any way I abandoned my company
07:51because I would never do that.
07:53There's a whole generation of young people that grew up with us from when they were kids.
07:57And now we have jobs and now we have kids.
08:00Look at us.
08:01This customer, this woman, I mean, I catered to this woman and her lifestyle and I presented
08:05a lifestyle to her.
08:06I am these women and these women are me.
08:08There's no taking that away.
08:10And they're going to continue to support you.
08:12That company is like a baby.
08:15One of my kids.
08:16You're first born.
08:17My Yoki was basically born on the runway.
08:19Ming, too.
08:20Ming was like eight months old, maybe one.
08:23The first time I took her out on a runway.
08:25I put my kids into this.
08:26My family.
08:27I just don't want to disappoint the kids.
08:29You know, the girls, I haven't even really explained this to them.
08:33I'm really worried about telling Ming and Aoki there won't be a fashion show or a finale
08:38runway walk this year.
08:40Yes, they're wise for their age, but at eight and ten, they may not quite understand what
08:45this really means.
08:46I feel like they'll be heartbroken and they won't understand.
08:48But in life, what do we teach our kids about change?
08:52Life is always about change.
08:55And now Fashion Week is coming up and no show.
08:58Like, the girls aren't going to walk down the runway.
09:01You know, I'm known for putting on the greatest shows.
09:03Top three shows every season we've been voted.
09:05You know, you need to go to Fashion Week.
09:07You need to go and be visible.
09:09But this is not the end.
09:11This is only the beginning to the next chapter.
09:13This is just an intermission.
09:15You know, ever since we've met, you've overcome so many obstacles.
09:18And you still rise like a phoenix.
09:21Never look back.
09:22You keep on going.
09:23Just look forward.
09:25Thanks, friendie.
09:27Oh, I love you.
09:30Let's toast.
09:31We're about to move on.
09:32Here's to a new beginning.
09:34Then you're rocking Fashion Week.
09:35You're going to be fabulous.
09:36Onward and upward.
09:37Onward and upward.
09:39Sometimes you have to move on in life.
09:41Mommy's moving on from baby fat.
09:43What?
09:44But mom, what about I walk down the runway?
09:46No one's going to come.
09:47Have you ever walked into an empty room?
09:49You're about to make me do it now.
09:50I'm not.
09:50Don't set me up to fail.
09:51I'm not.
09:53I'm not.
09:53So fabulous, fabulous.
09:59So fabulous, fabulous.
10:09After moving on from baby fat, I decided to attend New York's Fashion Week.
10:13I'm back at home.
10:14I'm gathering my thoughts to tell Ming and Aoki I'm going to Fashion Week this year without
10:19them.
10:20Okay, I have a little surprise for you because you did so good with your homework and you've
10:23been doing so good.
10:24Ice cream!
10:26So I decided to do so over a special treat of ice cream.
10:30A little sugar on top always helps.
10:32So, don't worry.
10:33Everything's okay.
10:34But I have some news.
10:36Sometimes you have to move on in life.
10:37Mommy's moving on from baby fat.
10:42What?
10:44These things happen in life and you have to be prepared.
10:48Sometimes life will throw you a curveball and you have to...
10:51Dodge it.
10:52Is that what you do to a curveball?
10:53Dodge it.
10:54Great.
10:54I'm going to New York for Fashion Week just for a few days and I'm going to be on the other
10:58side.
10:58I'm actually going to go to shows and watch shows and Auntie Shanee will be here to do fun
11:02things with you and you will be good little girls.
11:04No fashion show?
11:06Yeah, what about your fashion show?
11:07Ming and Aoki have been a part of my fashion show since they were born.
11:11How do I tell them, no, not this year, girls?
11:13No.
11:14But mom, what about our walk down the runway?
11:17Well, one day we will do our walk down the runway.
11:20But not now and not for baby fat.
11:22This will be the first fashion week that you guys will be with me.
11:25Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh.
11:27We're going to make you something so every time you go somewhere, everywhere, you will remember
11:32us.
11:32Something diamond-y and tiara-ish.
11:36I love that idea.
11:37Inspired by Mommy Fabulous, Ming, and me.
11:40I like the sound of that.
11:42It's always been so special for me to take that walk down the runway with my kids, but
11:46I know we'll be doing it again soon.
11:52In fashion, you have to remain visible, whether you have a fashion show that season or not.
11:57So I'm headed to fashion week, and I'm intending to make sure everyone knows that Kimora Lee
12:02Simmons is here to stay.
12:04Hello?
12:06I'm coming to New York for fashion week.
12:10Oh, great!
12:11So we want to come, and obviously we want to make the best use of our time.
12:16You know, I thought we should maybe do an in-store promotion at Macy's for Couture for Fashions
12:21Night Out.
12:22Fashions Night Out kicks off New York Fashion Week, and doing an in-store at Macy's for Couture
12:26by Kimora is the perfect place to remind the world that I have many brands, not just paper
12:31pattern.
12:32You want to get into Macy's?
12:34It's only three nights away.
12:35You are aware of that, right?
12:37Well, it's not today.
12:39It's not tonight.
12:40I'm pretty sure they've already booked everyone and set everything up, so it's going to be
12:44a challenge to get in there.
12:45I know things have been set.
12:46That's what my middle name is, Kimora Lee Challenge Simmons Hunsu.
12:50That's me.
12:51You know, if you call Macy's and say, Kimora's coming, they love us.
12:54They support us.
12:55They will definitely, you know, go all out.
12:58We need it to be big.
12:59We need it to be fabulous, over the top.
13:01Don't have two people showing up, Priscilla.
13:02I'll be embarrassed.
13:03No, I know.
13:04I know.
13:05Okay, and then I wanted to catch a couple of shows.
13:08Check Russell's schedule.
13:09Call him up.
13:10Let's match some things up.
13:11You know, maybe I'll chaperone him to a show or two to keep him out of trouble.
13:15I know Tommy Hilfiger's showing this season, so I wanted to try to catch that.
13:19So you want to be a Tommy Hilfiger?
13:20Go ahead.
13:20I'm writing it down.
13:22Also, I want to check out Cousteau Barcelona and Zach Gozen show.
13:25What about if I could get you in there?
13:26I mean, are you okay with, like, sitting, like, third row?
13:29Thanks, Priscilla.
13:30I feel like a stepchild.
13:32Second row.
13:33Only front row.
13:35I have that in big cap.
13:36Only front row.
13:37I'm on it.
13:38Talk to you soon.
13:39I know I've given a lot to Priscilla, but it's important that everybody knows we're not going
13:44anywhere but up.
13:45We are starting a new chapter, and we are starting today.
13:48I have a ton of things to do.
13:55I have to get her into some fashion shows, and then I have to make sure that she gets
13:59into Macy's or Fashions Night Out.
14:01Well, Camara's actually interested and very enthusiastic about participating in Fashions
14:07Night Out.
14:08Yes, I understand it's only a few days away.
14:12Macy's has definitely been known to turn certain people away, especially when there's a time
14:17crunch.
14:18They like to work in a six-month time frame, and right now, that's not where we are.
14:22So, you know, we're just thinking that we have, like, a signing, you know, have her promote
14:27her brand, Couture by Camara, let her meet her fans, you know, a huge meet and greet.
14:31We would really appreciate, you know, anything that you can do.
14:34Two biggest challenges right now is, one, if Macy's come back and they say no.
14:39I mean, that's just going to be heartbreaking.
14:41But on top of that, if they do say yes, we haven't been promoting this event.
14:44We usually promote things months in advance.
14:46How do we get her fans there?
14:48I'm in charge of this, and the worst thing that could happen is Camara gets on stage, and
14:51it's crickets.
14:52No one's there.
14:53I really want to make this happen.
14:54Camara's not going to take no for an answer.
15:00When I told the girls they weren't traveling with me to New York Fashion Week, Ming and
15:04Aoki were more concerned about Mommy than for themselves.
15:09Hi, guys.
15:10Hi.
15:10How are you?
15:11Hi.
15:11Hi.
15:12In fact, they want to design a fabulous purse just for me.
15:16So you guys want to go get started?
15:17Yeah.
15:18Okay, cool.
15:19Okay.
15:19There's tons of stuff.
15:21Oh, Lord.
15:22So you guys want to decorate it for your mom?
15:24Yes.
15:24Start it.
15:25Okay.
15:26So what do you want to decorate first?
15:28I like embellishments and trims.
15:30I like diamonds.
15:32Design away.
15:34This is why you should turn your playroom into a design showroom.
15:41You want to put the K on that one?
15:43Okay, look.
15:44What if you put this K?
15:45This is fun.
15:49Don't look.
15:49I won't look.
15:51Oh, my gosh.
15:51It's awesome.
15:53Kenzo, what do you think about this?
15:55Hi.
15:55Hi.
15:58Yay.
16:01Inspired by Coco Chanel and Mom, the Mommy Fabulous Kiara's Coco Chanel Purse.
16:07Oh, I love that.
16:11I love it.
16:12I love it.
16:12Should I wear this to the fashion show?
16:16Thank you so much.
16:18This is a purse that you can only have if you're Mommy Fabulous.
16:22I love it.
16:24It's been nice to have business with you.
16:25Do I have to pay for this?
16:26With Ming and Aoki's bag in tow, I head to New York for Fashion Week.
16:39Priscilla and I are meeting to discuss my schedule.
16:42I hope that she's worked everything out because there's absolutely no room for error.
16:46Yes, I understand.
16:50I just got here.
16:51No, I just landed in New York.
16:55And I definitely want to sit down and talk to you.
16:57There's a lot going on.
16:58Okay, thank you.
16:59I'll see you soon.
17:00Bye.
17:01Okay, hold on one second.
17:04Okay, how's it going?
17:05It's going great, right?
17:06It's going.
17:06I'm still confirming some things.
17:09It's a little bit difficult just because...
17:11What's a little bit difficult?
17:12You have to know that you only gave me a few days to get everything together.
17:15I don't know how many days I gave you, my God.
17:17What would you like?
17:17A lifetime and a Coke and a smile?
17:19We're not here for very long.
17:21We've got to blow this town up and I've got to get back home with my babies.
17:24Okay, what about fashion shows?
17:26We have Tommy Hilfiger confirmed.
17:27What about Custo Barcelona?
17:29Calls everyone.
17:30That's going to be great.
17:31And then...
17:32Zach Posen?
17:33That's still up in the air, so...
17:35It's up in the air.
17:36What?
17:37People don't answer their phone?
17:38It's hard to get somebody on the phone right now.
17:39They're in the middle of fashion week.
17:41Well, wait.
17:42What are you saying?
17:43How many times, vice versa, did we have people wait and we're trying to accommodate them?
17:47We just had to hold them off.
17:48It's different being on the other side.
17:52Just wait.
17:53We don't like to wait.
17:54Waiting is like...
17:54Just give me a second, then.
17:55I feel like I'm waiting for a heart attack.
17:56We're going to get everything...
17:57I'll hold my breath out.
18:00Priscilla keeps saying, I'm working on it.
18:02Wait, be patient.
18:03No.
18:04I want to hear...
18:05It's done.
18:07No, don't hold your breath out.
18:07Great, because I don't want to hold my breath.
18:09We don't want to wait.
18:10Okay.
18:11I've got to confirm.
18:11How about the Macy's in store?
18:13Macy's is confirmed, but...
18:15Well, the concern is that every other designer has been promoting for months at this point,
18:19and we're coming in a few days before.
18:21I'm just letting you know.
18:22It might be a challenge.
18:23Lots of people are going to be there.
18:24It's going to be great, right?
18:25There's no way of knowing who shows up and who doesn't.
18:30It's not like an RSVP list, like how many people you have coming.
18:32Oh, my God.
18:34No one's going to come?
18:35People are going to come.
18:36They love you.
18:37It might not be the same impact if we have...
18:39Well, I don't want to do it.
18:42I can't walk into an empty room, period.
18:45I don't want to go.
18:48I'm getting really worried.
18:49The in-store is about to start, and we need her now.
18:52What is that for?
18:53Tonight?
18:53I don't want any of it.
18:54You have to wear something.
18:56You're going to come naked.
18:58No, I'm not with Baby Fat anymore.
19:00I've departed from Baby Fat.
19:01You know I'm not with Baby Fat.
19:02Kamora, Kamora, what's next for you?
19:05It's tough to answer that question for someone else
19:07when you haven't even finished making that decision for yourself.
19:11So fabulous, fabulous.
19:16So fabulous, fabulous.
19:25After moving on from Baby Fat,
19:27I've decided to attend New York's Fashion Week.
19:30This is the perfect setting to get the word out
19:32that Kamora Lee Simmons is here to stay.
19:34I meet up with Priscilla for an update,
19:36and so far, things are not looking so hot.
19:39How about the Macy's in-store?
19:40Lots of people are going to be there.
19:41It's going to be great, right?
19:45There's no way of knowing who shows up and who doesn't.
19:47It's not like an RBCP list, like how many people you have coming.
19:50Oh, my God.
19:51What?
19:51No one's going to come?
19:52People are going to come.
19:53They love you.
19:54It might not be the same impact if we have...
19:56Well, I don't want to do it.
19:58I don't want to come.
20:00Don't set me up to fail.
20:01I never do that.
20:03I would never do that to you.
20:05That's my...
20:06My job is to stress.
20:07Your job is to go there...
20:09Oh, well, really?
20:10Well, then you owe me a check.
20:11I'm doing your job.
20:14No, don't stress.
20:15Let me stress.
20:16Let me worry about it.
20:16Oh, okay.
20:17Great.
20:17There's nobody coming to your in-store.
20:18Don't think like that.
20:19I'll just do my nails.
20:19Don't worry.
20:20We have to stress.
20:21There's going to be major press at this event.
20:23There's nothing sexy about walking into an empty room,
20:25nor is it fabulous.
20:26Have you ever walked into an empty room?
20:28No.
20:29You're about to make me do it now.
20:30I'm not.
20:31I'm not.
20:31I'm just being realistic with you.
20:33That's it.
20:34What's the good news for the day?
20:35That you're in New York,
20:36and you're going to take fashion week by storm.
20:38Are you excited?
20:41You're going to see these fashion shows.
20:42You're going to see it from the other angle.
20:44That's the good news.
20:45You get to enjoy yourself.
20:47Okay?
20:47Okay.
20:48I know your place is full,
20:50but I have a lot riding on this.
20:51Got it.
20:52Priscilla needs to fill that room tomorrow night,
20:54or I don't know.
20:57I just don't know.
20:59Welcome back.
21:00Thanks, Priscilla.
21:01Welcome back to my empty room.
21:06The Macy's in-store is in an hour,
21:08and I can't decide on my clothes.
21:10I don't like my hair.
21:12I'm not sure about my makeup.
21:13I'm not happy with anything.
21:15And I know it's because, for the first time ever,
21:17I'm actually nervous about whether people
21:19are going to turn up to my event.
21:20Do you know what you want to wear?
21:22Do you want a blue, black, fur?
21:26Well, faux fur.
21:27What is that for?
21:28Tonight?
21:28I don't want anything.
21:29You have to wear something.
21:31You're going to come naked.
21:35I'm here at Macy's,
21:36setting up last-minute details for the in-store.
21:39Everything has to be perfect.
21:41So the table's on its way up.
21:42Okay.
21:43We have flowers.
21:44We have hand shots.
21:45Great.
21:46Now, my one question is,
21:47she's from Morning Couture,
21:48is there any way to move some pieces over here?
21:50That's a good question.
21:52Like, right in front of here?
21:53Is that the only sign you have around?
21:55Yes.
21:55Right now, we have them hanging up at all the interviews.
21:57Okay, got it.
21:58Guys, can we move some of these pictures?
22:01The in-store looks great.
22:02The room is filled with fans.
22:05The DJ is ready,
22:06and the press awaits.
22:07So I call Kamara to update her with the good news.
22:14Do we know how far away she is?
22:23I'm getting really worried.
22:25The in-store is about to start,
22:26and we need her now.
22:32My nerves were getting the best to me,
22:33but I pull it all together
22:35and get myself to that Macy's in-store.
22:38However, with my recent departure from baby fat,
22:40I'm not so sure how everyone will respond.
22:44I'm actually feeling a bit nervous.
22:47I take a deep breath,
22:48look out into the crowd.
22:49Here we go.
23:08Hi!
23:12I love you guys so much for coming.
23:14I had no clue it's going to be like this.
23:16We're with Couture by Kamara.
23:19Do all of you guys know that?
23:22A lot of you guys I've been talking to on Twitter.
23:26Oh, hi!
23:29So I'm on Twitter.
23:30I'm official Kamara.
23:32And if you guys are on Twitter,
23:33then you have to tell me when you come up here
23:34your Twitter name, okay?
23:36And Ming and Aoki and Kenzo could not be here.
23:39And Ming and Aoki said it was very faux-fab
23:41of Mami to come out without them.
23:43So I thought I would tell you that on their behalf.
23:46Okay?
23:46And so I guess we're going to sign,
23:48and we're going to talk.
23:50So let the games begin.
23:53My fabs have spoken.
23:55And they're still with me.
24:01The girls are missing their mom
24:03because she's at Fashion Week.
24:05Today I'm taking Ming and Aoki to the craft store.
24:07They've been kind of bummed out
24:08since their mom is gone.
24:10And so I came to take them to kind of cheer them up.
24:12Okay, so what do we want to do?
24:13What do we want to get?
24:14Scoop here at Aoki.
24:16I think they have that here.
24:18I mean, they have everything.
24:18Look at that castle.
24:20Oh, look at that.
24:21I'm going to make Mami a doll,
24:23but where's she in these legs?
24:25Um, I don't see the body.
24:27If we can't find the legs,
24:28how are we going to make a Barbie?
24:30What else can you come up with?
24:32It hit me.
24:33I got it.
24:34What is it?
24:35You know how we're moking dope, Dad,
24:36that we can get to go to the fashion show?
24:38Yeah.
24:39We can make a craft runway
24:41for Mommy to come
24:42and we'll all have a big fashion show.
24:43That sounds great.
24:44Okay.
24:45That sounds really cool.
24:46High five.
24:47Dealeo.
24:48The girls decide
24:49they want to make a catwalk
24:52to walk down the runway
24:53with their mom like they used to.
24:54What can we call it?
24:55A show bar.
24:56A fairy tale fashion show.
24:57Great idea.
24:58We have our thinking caps on today.
25:00Let's think about this for a second.
25:01What do we need to get?
25:03Cardboard.
25:03Oh, perfect for the runway.
25:05Hot pink.
25:06I love it.
25:07We're going to get
25:08a bunch of different
25:09type of arts and crafts
25:10to make it really dreamy
25:12and, um, like a fairy tale.
25:15Well, I like this platinum.
25:17We could add some platinum.
25:18Oh, okay.
25:18We need the fold-away castle.
25:20Get a couple feathers, Yoki.
25:22We need curtains.
25:22We need crayons and paper.
25:25Hey, look, little baby.
25:27I know what we make
25:27an archway out of.
25:28Straws?
25:29Yes.
25:30Good, we need pillars.
25:31Yes.
25:32This is for the background
25:33for, um, the scene thing.
25:36The white is for the clouds.
25:38And the gold and silver
25:40is for the runway.
25:41You're making a mess.
25:42She always makes a mess.
25:44It's part of-
25:45What do you think little
25:45sisters are for?
25:46Yeah, making messes.
25:47We're running your life.
25:49Can you explain to me
25:50our colors?
25:51The colors can be
25:53gold and silver.
25:54We have pillars
25:55and then we have
25:56little hats to the pillars.
25:58We probably need
25:59two more pillars.
26:03We got a lot going on.
26:05Yoki, here's your pillar.
26:07I like this.
26:07No, we don't need to see.
26:09Yoki, you're not
26:10the head of this fashion show.
26:11No, we have to work
26:12as a team here.
26:13We have to all incorporate
26:14our ideas.
26:16Let's gather stuff
26:17so we can head
26:18to the counter.
26:19I think Mora's gonna feel
26:20great about this idea.
26:22So you're okay?
26:23We're all good.
26:24She's gonna love it.
26:36The love and support
26:37that I'm receiving
26:38from my fabs
26:39is overwhelming.
26:41Tonight at Macy's
26:42could not have been sweeter,
26:44but there's one thing
26:45left for me to do.
26:46My kids made me
26:49this bag, okay?
26:50And they want me
26:50to carry it
26:51during Fashion Week.
26:53Okay, look at this bag.
26:58And on the back
26:59it says,
26:59Mommy Fabulous.
27:01Okay, so you are
27:02my witnesses
27:03that I'm carrying
27:04this bag
27:05because it doesn't
27:05exactly match,
27:06but I couldn't explain
27:07that to the 8 and 10-year-old,
27:08right?
27:09You got my bag.
27:10I carry my bag
27:11for Fashion Week, okay?
27:14Did I tell you
27:15I love you?
27:17Okay, and did I tell you
27:18thank you for coming?
27:23I'm on such a high
27:24from the amazing turnout
27:25at the Macy's in-store.
27:26Now I'm sure
27:27my fabs will follow me
27:29to whatever
27:29my next project may be.
27:31This is what I needed
27:32to know,
27:32and the answer
27:33is a resounding yes.
27:40Fashion Week
27:43has officially begun.
27:45Russell and I
27:46are attending
27:46the Tommy Hilfiger show.
27:50I admit it feels
27:51a little weird,
27:52awkward even,
27:53because normally
27:53I'd be getting ready
27:54for my own show.
27:56Where do I go?
27:58Do we go that way?
27:59Do we go that way?
27:59Do we go that way?
27:59Do we go that way?
28:10It's been a long time
28:13since I've been a spectator
28:14at Fashion Week.
28:15I'm used to being
28:15behind the curtain,
28:16calling all the shots.
28:18To be a spectator
28:19feels strange.
28:23Tommy's show
28:23was fantastic.
28:25Next up,
28:26the press.
28:27I'm not looking forward
28:28to that.
28:29Who did you sit
28:30next to at the show?
28:31Did you see J-Lo?
28:31Yes.
28:32What did you say?
28:33This is like
28:34my worst nightmare.
28:35They want to know
28:35who I sat next to
28:36and what we talked about.
28:38I'm a designer.
28:38You asked me about fashion.
28:41What did you think
28:41of the show tonight?
28:42I thought it was amazing,
28:44colorful.
28:45I'm sorry,
28:45I'm sorry,
28:45I'm sorry.
28:46Are you having a show?
28:48No, I'm not
28:49with Baby Fat anymore.
28:50Recently,
28:51I've departed
28:51from Baby Fat.
28:52You know I'm not
28:53with Baby Fat.
28:54I'm still getting used
28:55to the fact
28:56that Baby Fat
28:56and I are no more.
28:58So to have to answer
28:59questions over
29:00and over again
29:01is not easy.
29:03Kamora,
29:03what's next for you?
29:06It's tough
29:06to answer that question
29:07for someone else
29:08when you have
29:08and even finished
29:09making that decision
29:10for yourself.
29:12It's the middle
29:12of fashion week
29:13and the press
29:14is heating up.
29:15Every day
29:16when I wake up,
29:16I don't know
29:16how I manage.
29:19This could potentially
29:20all be a disaster.
29:21Are you saying
29:22that we didn't
29:22get the ticket?
29:25The Fabulous Fabulous
29:26It's the middle of fashion week
29:42and with a couple of events
29:43under my belt,
29:44I'm feeling better,
29:45but still adjusting.
29:47Having to answer
29:48the same questions
29:49over and over
29:50about moving on
29:50from Baby Fat
29:51will take a little bit
29:52of getting used to.
29:53But most of all,
29:54I find that I'm really
29:55missing my girls.
29:57They're always here
29:57with me.
30:00Ming and Yoki
30:01came up with an idea
30:02to surprise their mom
30:03by doing a fairytale
30:04fashion show.
30:05We were way over our heads
30:07and we needed assistance.
30:08It was like,
30:09dial 911.
30:09We didn't know
30:10what we were doing.
30:10I brought the girls
30:12here to Cheryl Fudge
30:13because Cheryl Fudge
30:14teaches kids
30:15how to sew,
30:17how to design,
30:18how to make runways.
30:19So this will be
30:20a wonderful opportunity
30:21for them to learn
30:23and have fun
30:24doing it at the same time.
30:26Look!
30:26Hi, girls!
30:27Hi!
30:28Welcome to Fashion Camp.
30:30My name is Princess Aoki.
30:31Nice to meet you.
30:33Princess Aoki,
30:34very nice to meet you.
30:35Hi, Ming.
30:35Hi, Ming.
30:36Nice to meet you.
30:37Are you guys here
30:37to be designers today?
30:39Yes.
30:39What are you thinking
30:40of designing?
30:41Well, we want to kind of do
30:42like a...
30:42Fashion fairy tale.
30:43Yes.
30:44Ooh.
30:44Fairytale, runway,
30:47fashion show.
30:48That is so sweet.
30:50Well, you came
30:50to the right place.
30:51We're excited.
30:52We have lots
30:53of princess dresses
30:54and things like that.
30:55Okay.
30:56So maybe we should
30:57start designing.
31:03Have you guys
31:03made stuff before?
31:04Yeah.
31:05Ooh, that's pretty.
31:08We need two
31:09of these finished,
31:10right?
31:12I like it here.
31:14Okay.
31:14I got it here.
31:16I'm a bride.
31:18Looking good.
31:21Okay.
31:23Well, let's start
31:25on the runway.
31:26There's an actual runway
31:28in the store,
31:29and what could be
31:29more fabulous than that?
31:31I hope you guys
31:31are good drawers
31:32because I'm not.
31:33Exciting.
31:35Let me see here.
31:39Cute.
31:39I like it.
31:40What else do we need
31:41for the fairy tale runway?
31:44We need princesses.
31:45The girls have walked
31:47down the runway
31:48with their moms
31:48their entire lives,
31:49so it is super important
31:51that they do this
31:52with her again.
31:53Do you think
31:54Mom will like it?
31:55Yes.
31:55Is it gonna be fab
31:57or fabulous?
31:58It's going to be
31:59fabulosity!
32:01Fabulosity times 10.
32:02So I'm going to New York
32:04tonight to meet up
32:05with your mom,
32:06so I'm gonna leave you guys
32:07here with Bob-Ock.
32:08Kimora's gonna be
32:09so touched
32:10about what the girls
32:11have done for her
32:12in this runway.
32:13She has no idea
32:14what's in store.
32:16Finish up,
32:17make me proud,
32:18and make Mom happy.
32:20Okay.
32:20Day 2 of Fashion Week,
32:34and I'm at
32:34the Cousteau Barcelona show.
32:36His line is very colorful,
32:38beautiful,
32:38and inspiring.
32:40And again,
32:41I know the press
32:41will be waiting.
32:42Last time was trial by fire.
32:44We'll see how this one goes.
32:47Welcome to Fashion News Live.
32:48I am backstage
32:48at the Cousteau Barcelona show
32:50with the one and only
32:50I'm wearing Cousteau.
32:55Oh, hi, babe.
32:56Did you see Cousteau?
32:56No.
32:57Hi, how are you?
32:59Good to see you.
33:00That's my niece.
33:02We love you.
33:04Tell us more about you.
33:06Tell us more about
33:07what you do as a woman,
33:08as a businesswoman,
33:09because you're so good,
33:10and give me all the advice
33:11you have for women.
33:12Every day when I wake up,
33:13I don't know how I manage.
33:15I just,
33:15which just leads into the advice.
33:17Do the best you can,
33:18one thing at a time,
33:19knowing your strength
33:21and knowing your power,
33:22and that's what I call
33:22fabulosity.
33:23While I'm answering this question,
33:26it dawns on me.
33:27I need to take my own advice,
33:29to take one day at a time
33:30and work from my strengths
33:32to get beyond this.
33:36Being the final hour,
33:37it is extremely difficult
33:39to get a phone call
33:40from any designer,
33:41especially one of the hottest
33:42tickets in town,
33:43Zach Pozen.
33:43I will be extremely disappointed
33:47if I have to go
33:48and tell Kimora
33:49that we did not get tickets.
33:52What did you say?
33:53Are you saying
33:53that we didn't get the tickets?
33:55Kimora has some high expectations.
33:57Her first time,
33:58coming to Fashion Week,
33:59as just a viewer,
34:00she wants to be front and center.
34:02Yes, the seats.
34:07We have the tickets.
34:08Oh, my goodness.
34:11Thank you so much.
34:13Thank you, thank you, thank you.
34:15I'm so happy to say,
34:17mission accomplished.
34:29Russell and I are at Zach Pozen,
34:31our last show of the week.
34:33Between the Macy's Inn store
34:35and these fashion shows,
34:36this experience has me feeling
34:38better than ever.
34:44We go way back.
34:45Sure you do.
34:46Yeah, we do.
34:47Can I model next season?
34:49If I lose a little more weight
34:50for casting.
34:51We'll have a walk, let's see.
34:52I know.
34:52Want to do casting?
34:53Okay.
34:54Good.
34:56Okay, say, get the job.
34:59I'll do a fitting.
35:00We'll do a fitting.
35:01We've done fitting.
35:01I love you.
35:03I'm so proud of you.
35:04You're great.
35:05I'm feeling really good
35:06about myself,
35:07the future of Camoralee Simmons.
35:09I now know how to answer when asked.
35:11Now that baby's answer over,
35:12what's next?
35:13I know where I'm headed
35:14and I feel great about it.
35:15I have a lot of great things
35:17in the works
35:17and I'm so excited.
35:18I'm relaunching KLS collection.
35:21I have couture right now
35:22that hit the floor at Macy's.
35:24I have fabulosity.
35:25We're ready for the next step
35:26and a lot of youngsters
35:28have grown up with me.
35:29I have three kids.
35:29I have an ex-husband.
35:30I have a new husband.
35:32We're grown and sexy
35:33and so I'm going to usher in
35:34that new young lady
35:36but I'm also going to say true
35:37to my fans who have gone with me
35:38through so much
35:39and so I want to get it right for them.
35:40I can do this.
35:43The future is mine to take.
35:45And some guy came in there
35:47and said,
35:47your skirt's so short
35:48I can see your arm.
35:49I said to the man,
35:51I can see your mama's arm.
35:53No peeking.
35:56Open your eyes.
35:58Oh wow!
36:10Fashion week has come to a close.
36:22It's been an inspiring
36:23and refreshing experience
36:25to say the least.
36:26I got the word out
36:27about where I'm going
36:28with my business
36:28and it was well received
36:30by all my fabs.
36:31I'm ready to get back
36:33to my kids in LA.
36:34However,
36:35there's one more thing
36:36left for me to do.
36:37Come on.
36:37Hi everybody.
36:44I love you.
36:45Let's sit down and eat.
36:49Tonight I've gathered the team
36:50for dinner at Matsuri,
36:52one of my favorite spots
36:53in New York City.
36:54It's only right
36:55that we end this chapter
36:56on a high note.
36:59We wanted to just come together
37:01to say goodbye
37:01to not one another
37:03and not our lives
37:04and our work
37:05but to say goodbye
37:06to Baby Fat
37:06and I wanted to just say
37:08thank you
37:08for all of your hard work
37:10and everything
37:10that each and every
37:11single one of you
37:12have done.
37:13I started this
37:14with your uncle.
37:15Uncle Rush.
37:16In honor of Russell,
37:17we love him.
37:17He's always our papa.
37:18Always.
37:19We have left a legacy
37:20around the world
37:21and that will never go away
37:22and we've really been
37:23a part of a great movement
37:24and I'm just very excited
37:25to move on
37:26to the next chapter
37:27of our lives.
37:28It's always important
37:29that you know

37:33since you were interns.
37:35Tina has been with me
37:36for 10 years.
37:38You know it's a yearbook.
37:39What is?
37:39Oh, you want to do
37:40the yearbook?
37:41Okay.
37:41What's Tina?

37:45because when Tina came
37:46you should have seen
37:46the picture of how Tina's
37:47and now Tina's
37:49like a mini me.
37:50Tina's most improved.

38:12Miss goody two shoes,
38:12I don't think so
38:13because I think that's
38:14you.
38:14Oh, yes she is.
38:16Oh, Sandra,
38:17how long have you been here?
38:18Eight years.
38:19Eight years.
38:19You were my assistant
38:20and now you're VP as well.
38:22I remember my first day
38:23with you.
38:23I walked into that house
38:25and I had to pack you
38:26and get you ready
38:26for Miami
38:27and I got lost
38:28because the house was so big
38:29I felt like I was on cribs.
38:31Last but not least,
38:34Shanee.
38:34She's only the longest.
38:35What is it,
38:36been 50 years?
38:38You need to be put out.
38:43We have been together
38:44for so long
38:45and your kids are my kids
38:46and my kids are your kids.
38:48She got my boyfriend beat up.
38:50No, no, no.
38:50I got your boyfriend beat up.
38:52We were in the gas station.
38:54No, it wasn't prom night.
38:55It was something else
38:56because I had on a skirt
38:57and the skirt was very short.
38:59She walks in the gas station
39:00and some guy came in there
39:01and said,
39:02your skirt's so short.
39:03I can see you up.
39:04I said to the man,
39:06I can see your mama's up.
39:08And you're going to chase her.
39:10She starts chasing her
39:12around the aisle
39:13of the gas station.
39:16Then my boyfriend comes.
39:18We take it outside.
39:20Who gets hit?
39:20The boyfriend.
39:21Black eye.
39:22Why?
39:23Because of her mouth.
39:24You know what?
39:25You're fired.
39:27Okay, so what's Shanee's title?
39:29Best personality?

39:41Mr. Maddie!
39:46Drama queen.
39:48Oh my God!
39:50Even though the future
39:53is still to be determined,
39:55my team knows
39:56that if they ever need anything
39:57from me, anything at all,
39:58I'm always a phone call away.
40:00We're family.
40:02Well, on that note,
40:03I'll say a few words
40:04from the team to you.
40:06Even though we've come
40:07all from different backgrounds,
40:09you brought us together
40:10to make us a family.
40:12Aw.
40:12And you took us under your wing
40:14and treated us all
40:14like your children.
40:15And we each have special stories
40:17that we could each share
40:18with each other,
40:19with you.
40:20But the most important thing
40:21is that we're here together
40:22and despite what our future holds,
40:25we'll always be a family.
40:26And that's all because of you.
40:28And we love you
40:29and you'll always be our Mama Lee.
40:31Cheers, everybody.
40:32Salute.
40:33This dinner is definitely bittersweet.
40:37I love the people
40:38at this table very much.
40:40We've shared a lot
40:41of highs and lows together.
40:43It's not over.
40:45It's the start of a new chapter
40:46in the KLS book.
40:55Hey, Mom, hide your eyes.
40:56Okay.
40:57Surprise.
40:57Okay.
40:59Wait, don't let me go.
41:01Hello?
41:01Oh, I'm alone.
41:05No peeking.
41:06Walk.
41:07Okay.
41:08Turn, turn,
41:09and I'm off into something.
41:10Open your eyes.
41:11Oh, look.
41:12Oh, wow.
41:13What's this?
41:14It's a fairytale runway.
41:15It is a fairytale runway.
41:17Taste seat.
41:18We're at a show.
41:19Whose show is this?
41:20Is this your show?
41:20The M&A.
41:23Really?
41:24Okay, Mom.
41:25You stay right here.

41:52Wow.
41:53Wow.
41:53You look great.
42:05We love it.
42:07What made you guys choose a fairy theme?
42:12Because fairytales have happy endings.
42:15Yes.
42:16This is the art.
42:17Oh, it is.
42:25We have one more surprise.
42:27It's yours.
42:29My turn?
42:29Don't forget your purse.
42:31My purse?
42:33What the girls have done for me reaffirms my mantra.
42:36Family always comes first.
42:38Come on, Mom.
42:39Okay.
42:39Out of all the fashion shows we've ever done, this one meant the most to me.
42:44After everything that's happened, this was the perfect way to end the week.
42:47Saying goodbye isn't always easy, but change is constant.
42:51And right now, the future is looking pretty nice.
42:54Onward and upward, I say.
42:55Onward and upward.
42:56Next on Kimora Life in the Family, I really want to come out with a bang.
43:06First thing we're doing out of this office, I'm doing 100 makeovers on 100 women.
43:11This is all going to be volunteers.
43:12How in God's grain land are we going to be doing this?
43:14We have to go big or go home?
43:17This is my boyfriend when Jyman's away.
43:18We have a lovely relationship.
43:20You need to calm your cravings with the food.
43:22I have some friends who did some things via hypnosis.
43:25Are you going to make me scratch like a dog?
43:28No, no, I've never been able to succeed with that.
43:31Could you speak at a major event?
43:34I just have a little thing with public speaking.
43:36Um...
