‘It’s one of the good things to come from covid’: is hybrid working here to stay?

We’re asking people in Newport if they think hybrid working is now a staple of people’s jobs or if we’ll get forced back into the office eventually.

00:00We'll probably be moving back towards the office over the next couple of years.

00:04There's still going to be quite a few people that stay in there.

00:07I think the hybrid's going to stay.

00:09And, well, my partner, she works in the office.

00:12She's a bit of both, but she is slowly bringing a comeback to it.

00:15But she does get a lot more work done at home.

00:20And, yeah, she works in probation,

00:22so she does struggle with a lot of, like, the visits and stuff.

00:25But she's, yeah, I think the hybrid working is good.

00:29It's one of the good things that come out of COVID.

00:31So I can go either way, really.

00:33Yeah.

00:34Like, some people obviously feel more comfortable working from home.

00:37It doesn't really affect me too much.

00:38I think it's going to continue.

00:40I think these businesses have found Hangabout is so much cheaper.

00:44Attendance is up, but they're down, if you know what I mean,

00:47because you haven't got an excuse not to work at home,

00:50because usually you don't go into work unless...

00:52If you've got something that's spreadable, like a cold, you know.

00:55So, yeah, I think it's an excellent idea.

00:58And I think it's more productive as well.
