Is there a work-shy problem with gen z’s?

We’re asking people around Cardiff if youth unemployment is a product of our economy or a bad work ethic amongst young people?

00:00I don't think it's not the lack of work ethic or workforce.

00:02I think there's just no, like, motivation to stay in the work

00:08If you're not being recognised for your efforts

00:10or the money's just not getting you what you need,

00:14then I can understand why people don't want to put their hours in

00:18when, you know, we don't really have much time to begin with anyways.

00:23Look, by my kids, really, all I see is real hard work.

00:26Amongst my teenagers and their friends.

00:29I don't think... I think every generation's always down

00:32on the next generation. We're just different.

00:35I think we need to work towards thinking differently,

00:38um, in terms of where our economy's going

00:42and green energy and things like this.

00:44I think we've just got to be more clever.

00:46I mean, I've never had trouble trying to find jobs.

00:49Um, my daughter's nearly finished uni

00:52and I don't think she'll have any trouble.

00:54There is jobs out there, but I just think sometimes

00:56people are maybe a bit too fussy.
