🐬 Did you know dolphins sleep with one eye open? Unlike humans, dolphins are conscious breathers — they need to come up for air even while resting. To survive and stay alert for predators, dolphins shut down one half of their brain at a time and keep the other half awake, keeping one eye open in the process.
This incredible adaptation allows dolphins to rest without becoming vulnerable in the ocean. Nature truly is amazing!
