Animal Rights Activist Outraged Over Video of Air-Frying Live Crabs

Animal rights activist Varun Virlan says he's horrified at a video that has gone viral -- showing a woman seasoning and then air-frying two crabs while they were still alive!

00:00a lot of people look at crabs as what that women thought of them as just you know it's just some

00:08vegetable you're just seasoning it and putting on the air fryer which just goes to show how

00:12disconnect how disconnected we are from nature from other animals so i was horrified um and

00:21you know that i have shared videos in the past on our social media we have shared in the videos in

00:26the past showing crabs in like boiling pan trying to come out and that just goes to show these animals

00:33are you know just as sentient at as dogs cats pigs chickens cows and humans they want to live they

00:39when they're subjected to you know terror pain they they do fight back you can see the movement

00:44in their body wanting to escape the violence so what she's doing is you know air frying those

00:53animals those crabs and i want people to just for a moment pay attention those two crabs lived in the

00:59ocean they were ripped from their homes and till some point you know subjected to some sort of

01:04captivity and then air fried alive like it's important that we empathize with those victims

01:13and understand what you know it's not just you know the air frying but also the whole cycle of

01:18abuse and violence they were subjected to so yeah i think a lot of these especially on tiktok and

01:25instagram people tend to do a lot of things for views even if that you know that is anything

01:32controversial like subjecting animals to violence and abuse and that's what we're seeing now and we

01:37have seen in the past as well even you know there's a trend called you know animal rescue a lot of times

01:43people subject animals to a dangerous situation where then they rescue them so it's it's happening

01:48all over social media and there have been some um you know tiktok makes this sort of um

01:55difficult for people to do that to do that kind of stuff anything graphic and things like that

02:00but then there's things like that where you're you know things that are seen that are seen as normal

02:07like oh crabs you're just eating them boiling them but then this woman is literally air frying them

02:12so yeah i think like our job is to show like the everyday violence that's happening to animals

02:21to inspire change in people to advocate for diet change her and you know there's people in general

02:27who do that kind of stuff their goal is to get views and that's like morally reprehensible you're

02:33subjecting ascension being to such level of violence for your social media cloud that's like

02:39totally unacceptable tiktok community standards need to expand to include all animals and

02:46discouraging content that involve any sort of glorification of animal abuse such as this one

02:54if you're appalled by this horrific video of crabs being air fried just think about all the other animals

03:02on this planet you know it's really important that it's you know moving you it's making you to question

03:08your diet and your lifestyle um but also extend the compassion your empathy to all animals because

03:16cows pigs chickens all they all suffer the same they all feel the feel pain and feel terror feel joy

03:23um you know go vegan and visit a sanctuary and you know uh you know animal sanctuary and you'll see

03:31those animals they're no different than dogs cats or human children they are they are you know just like

03:37us and yeah use that video use that anger use that frustration for something good
