Comcast revealed “Versant” on Tuesday as the official name for its upcoming NBCUniversal cable network spinoff, according to CNBC. The new holding company will include cable networks such as USA, CNBC, MSNBC, Oxygen, E!, SYFY, and Golf Channel. It will also own digital brands including Fandango, Rotten Tomatoes, and GolfNow. CEO Mark Lazarus said Versant emphasizes versatility and brand fluency, though it won’t be consumer-facing. Each brand will operate independently, with no plans to launch a unified streaming platform. The unit, which generated $7 billion in revenue last year, is expected to be spun out by year-end 2025.
