Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh), May 5, 2025(ANI): On Supreme Court to hear pleas challenging constitutional validity of Waqf Amendment Act, 2025 on May 05, Chairman of Islamic Centre of India and member of All India Muslim Personal Law Board member Maulana Khalid Rasheed Farangi Mahali claimed that AIMPLB have a view that these amendments made in the Waqf Act are against the fundamental rights including right to equality and prohibition of discrimination on the ground of religion, sex, caste or place of birth. These amendments are also against the right to freedom of religion, right to manage religious properties and religious affairs.He said, "...AIMPLB is of the view that these amendments made in the Waqf Act are basically against the right to equality and prohibition of discrimination on the ground of religion, sex, caste or place of birth. These amendments are also against the right to freedom of religion, right to manage religious properties and religious affairs... we are expecting that we will get justice from the Supreme Court."

00:00Today it is expected that the Supreme Court will hear the case related to the Waqh Amendment Act 2025.
00:10And in the last hearing, which was held on the 17th April,
00:14the Honorable Court have asked the government to file their rejoinder and file their answers.
00:21So the personal law board is of the view that these amendments made in the Waqh Act are basically against the right to equality
00:32and prohibition of discrimination on ground of religion, sex, caste, place of birth.
00:41And these amendments are also against the right to freedom of religion, right to manage religious properties and religious affairs and right to property.
00:54So on this ground, we are expecting that we will get relief from the Honorable Court.
01:01And now everyone is waiting for the hearing of the Supreme Court.
01:06And we are all of the view that we will get justice from the Honorable Supreme Court.
