Not the start to the new season that George Graham's Arsenal were expecting.
Transcript
00:00A home win looked a certainty at Highbury with Arsenal two up by half-time.
00:06Nigel Winterburn's free kick was headed in by Steve Bould just before the half-hour mark.
00:11And a second goal was to follow for Arsenal soon after.
00:14It was a characteristic charge down the right from Lee Dixon.
00:17Kevin Campbell wasn't complaining when the Norwich defenders allowed the ball to reach him.
00:21And for the majority inside Highbury, including the cardboard cutouts on the north bank,
00:25that would seem to have been it.
00:26But Arsenal hadn't reckoned on Mark Robbins.
00:29Norwich's £800,000 signing scored his debut goal with 20 minutes to go.
00:36Two on to Arsenal, but it was followed up by what Arsenal manager George Graham described as
00:41almost laughable individual errors.
00:44David Seaman missed Ian Culverhouse's free kick.
00:46David Phillips claimed the goal and a perfect ten when Norwich made it 2-all.
00:51The last ten minutes were a nightmare for Arsenal.
00:54Rule Fox ran through to put Norwich 3-2 up.
00:57The first to congratulate Fox was Robbins, who'd been told by Norwich manager Ian Walker at half-time,
01:03he'd bring him on to get a couple of goals.
01:05He obliged two minutes from time.
01:07Tony Adams would have liked to have passed back perhaps.
01:10He got in a mess and Robbins raced through to make it 4-2.
01:13The shock result of the day by far.
01:15It's just one of those things.
01:18I mean, if you get the service into the box, you just try your best to hit the target.
01:21And fortunately enough, it's come off today.
01:25And I mean, the pressure's on me now really, isn't it?
01:27So I've got to keep that up and hopefully the lads will keep winning.
01:31Amen.
