Another Nepali student found dead at KIIT hostel

Just three months after Prakriti Lamsal's death triggered protests, another Nepali student, Preesa Sha, has been found dead in her KIIT hostel room.

00:13Prisa Shah, a first-year BTEC computer science student from Birganch, Nepal, was the deceased.

00:18Authorities informed both her parents and the Nepal embassy, and her body was sent to AIMS Bhubaneswar for post-mortem.

00:24In February, 21-year-old Prakriti Lamsal, a third-year BTEC student, was found dead in a hostel room.

00:29Her death had sparked protests by over 500 Nepali students.

00:33Tensions escalated further after reports surfaced that college authorities had attempted to evict some students,

00:39prompting diplomatic intervention.

00:41Lamsal's friends alleged she died by suicide after being harassed by her ex-boyfriend, Adhivik Shivastav,

00:46who was later arrested.

00:47In Prisa Shah's case, the cause of death was still under investigation.
