“Investigation underway,” DCP Bhubaneswar on Nepali girl student found dead at KIIT hostel

Bhubaneswar (Odisha), May 02, 2025 (ANI): On the death of Nepali girl student at KIIT University hostel in Bhubaneswar, the DCP of Bhubaneswar Jagmohan Meena shared the information. He said the girl was found hanging in her hostel room. At the time of evening attendance, the warden got to know about this incident. The deceased girl was immediately shifted to the hospital. The investigation process is still going on. No note was found in the girl's room, he informed. He said, "During the investigation, it was found that when the hostel warden was taking evening attendance, one student did not respond. On checking, the girl was found hanging inside her room. She was immediately shifted to a local hospital. The body is now kept at AIIMS and the girl's parents have been informed. The girl hailed from Nepal. She was studying in B. tech first year. No note was found in the girl's room. The situation is normal, and to assist the authorities, we have deployed our personnel. We have spoken to the girl's friends as well. The investigation is underway."
