00:00Phthalates, also known as everywhere chemicals, are added to consumer products such as food storage, containers, shampoo, makeup, perfume, PVC plumbing pipes, vinyl flooring, and even some children's toys.
00:13They are essentially synthetic chemicals that contribute to inflammation and systemic inflammation in the coronary arteries, which can accelerate existing disease and lead to acute events, including mortality, explains senior author Dr. Leonardo Trisand, a professor of pediatrics and population health.
