00:00Staying overseas now, Russia launching a series of strikes across Ukraine just hours after the
00:05surprise meeting between President Trump and President Zelensky at the Pope's funeral.
00:10ABC News has learned President Trump requested that meeting as the White House continues to
00:14press all sides for a peace deal. ABC's Marcus Moore reports.
00:19Tonight, we are learning more about that one-on-one surprise meeting between President
00:23Trump and Ukraine's President Zelensky that took place at the Vatican minutes before funeral
00:28services for Pope Francis. Zelensky responding to questions about how it went during a meeting
00:33with the UK's Prime Minister.
00:35Mr. President, how did the meeting with Trump go?
00:39That's a really, really bad, productive meeting.
00:43That 15-minute meeting, a far cry from their last face-to-face exchange in the Oval Office
00:48in February.

01:02President Trump also saying Saturday's meeting went well, and ABC News has learned that he
01:07requested it.
01:08The president now hitting out at Russian President Vladimir Putin, saying there is, quote,
01:12no reason for Putin to be shooting missiles into civilian areas, cities, and towns.
01:16But continuing to pressure Ukraine to accept a peace deal that forces them to give up land
01:21that Russia has seized since its invasion, as well as Crimea that it annexed in 2014.
01:25With President Trump promised on the campaign trail to end the war in Ukraine on day one
01:31of his presidency, but as he approaches his 100th day in the White House, peace remains
01:35elusive.
